I'm looking to stay at Cypress Pointe as all the reviews sound great and it seams like a good price. So far the cheapest I've found is on hotelkingdom.com. I've heard that I could get cheaper on skyauction but I cant find Cypress Pointe on there. Also I need to book the flights asap and therefore I'd need specific dates. Should I just book through hotelkingdom, or should I wait and see if it comes up on skyauction? I'm travelling in January. Thanks for any advice.

Skyauction is the cheapest way to go. It will be risky to wait, but it may come up close for the dates you want. They tend to release two bedroom units just a few weeks before the dates of your stay.

I'd try to win a Ready Set Go auction or a Getaway Weeks certificate ahead of time. You will have to check frequently to see if something opens up. I didn't see anything good for January yet. Only do this if you are willing to be flexible and pick another resort if Cypress Pointe does not open up.

It is really dumb luck to stumble across a vacancy. Cypress Pointe is so popular that you need to see it first and grab it fast before someone else does. My persistance paid off and I recently got a three bedroom for a $168 Getaway week certificate.

One bedroom units are easier to come by, but they do not have whirlpool tubs or a washer/dryer in the unit.

How do you go about winning a getaway weeks certificate on skyauction?
I can't find that on skyauction.
Thank you

they have that one on the Home & Away auctions....at 2 6 and 10 each day

todays auctions went at 188$ ( tomorrows 2 pm is already 196$), 188$ at 6 and at 10 198$ and 199$

here is the url for tommorrow 10 pm

http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer?OFFER_ID=1069019

but do not expect to get them for 168 any more.....the average for these have been 190$ lately of course you have to add the 15$ processing fee ( sometimes when the auction reaches close to 200$ they offer two )

if you win one you can purchase up to 5 certificates with the assumption you would also get up to 5 skyauction credits also ...at the price you win at

the good part about H & A .....they also give you a 100$ skyauction credit/certificate good for other auctions or offers on skyauction

the inventory on getaway weeks is last minute inventory ( they use the same search engine as RSG and show similar properties ) so you will not see things "far out" but the certificate is good until aug 2006

you cannot "hold" units like you can in RSG, you actually have to call and hope what you want is still there when you call

If you don't mind doing a timeshare you can stay in Cypress Pointe in 2 bedroom for $79 or in 3 BR for $119. HERE

bearzabout, I looked at the getaway offer, but I am confused as to how you know where you can stay. I put in the dates of when I'd be travelling and it came up with only two places??? Would a lot more accom come on later? Or can I only pick from those two?

getawayweeks.com does not have a "long term" inventory, it will be mostly "last minute inventory"

45 - 60 days out is when you will see more resorts but you have to call to get them, you cannot put them 'on hold' as you can with Ready Set Go auctions which draw from a similar inventory but with more available "further out"
