how do I get a good room rate?

when we will be at WDW in June,,even the value resorts are almost 100 bucks a night,,WOW,,,,thats a lot(for us)....i know this will be the bajillionth time someone here has asked this question..BUT is there anyway at all to get a better rate?.we really really wanna stay on site this time..BUT may have to go elswhere.now..we have never been at this time of the year.Is this the same price as the other hotels(those OUTSIDE of WDW/?)//thanks!!!!!

there are numerous ways to get discounted rates... of course, it depends on the time of year (there are diff't seasons at wdw, value being the least expensive)... being a AAA member usually results in some discount... having an AP can also result in discounts... the best thing i can recommend would be to keep your eyes open for codes and special discounts, and other than here the best place to watch those is at www.mousesavers.com

I think the best way is to book with a TA that knows Disney. We work with The Magic For Less Travel Agency. Deb has made our reservations for us. When codes are released she makes the changes and updates for us. No sitting on the phone. No watching day after day for the codes. She did it all. Cost us nothing extra to use the TA service. She also made all of our PS arrangements, special boat cruise arrangements, etc. She is awesome. I would highly recommend checking into that option for a discount. We also bought an AP that paid for itself with the discounts. We waited until after the AP discounts were released to purchase it, just to make sure we would indeed need it and use it. You can make a reservation without an AP in hand. Then when codes are released, you can have the reservation changed to the AP rate. Then purchase the AP. If codes are not released you are not out anything. There are also codes for the general public to use. Your best bet is to find a TA that can do all this for you. It gets time consuming and confussing for some people.
