How do I get a different resort at 11 months?

I recently bought into SS and I understand that I can book my home resort 11 months in advance. I am looking at a Christmas 2006 trip but I would prefer WLV. Do I have any chance of booking at 7 months. If not, how would I insure a WLV reservation.
If I rented/transferred points into my account from a WLV owner would I be able to use those points at the 11 month reservation period?

Any suggestions?

Thanks :confused3

yes if you rent points from a VWL they will allow you to make a reservation at 11th months.

you can either have them transfer to your account. Or they can make the reservation for you.

Another idea might be to look for a VWL owner who would like to trade ressies with you by trading into SSR (doesn't have to be at the same time) and trade reservations with them. You make theirs at 11 months, and they make yours at 11 months.

You can't get into another resort at 11 months without getting another member involved. You will not likely get into VWL at 7 months in December - it's very popular with the VWL owners at this time. Point transfer is a good option but that requires additional money. Since any owner can book SSR for virtually any time of year at 7 months, there is no real incentive for another owner to swap reservations with you at 11 months. I think your best bet is to book SSR at 11 months and try to get high on the waitlist right at 7 months. However, if you are going to want to do this often, you will need to consider additional points at VWL.

We called in July of '05 for a studio ressie for Dec. '05. Got five nights in a studio without waitlisting. Maybe somebody had cancelled right before we called, but it seems to me that somebody who was waitlisted would have had the first shot at those five nights. You never know. We won't be taking any more chances, however - we bought a VWL add-on! Good luck!

If you have the points transferred in, you can have MS track them manually and make reservations at the home resort of the transferred points. This takes away the ability to make them day one, but it can be done. However, it doesn' t happen automatically or easily and you may have to push MS to get it done.

Thanks for injecting a dose of reality into a highly speculative topic. :goodvibes
