I am trying to figure out which would be the better way of going if I could get a discount. If they offer free dining I know that I have to pay rack rate for the room, how do I know what that price is? Most likely if I did not have any offers added to my vacation when I booked am I paying rack rate for the room? And if I could get a pin for 20/30/40 the 40 would be off of the rack rate correct? If they offer free dining and it is the package plus dining for the resort I am staying at, in the past they have allowed you to upgrade and just pay the difference correct? Well what is the price for the package plus dining and the package plus deluxe dining.

If you can get a discount at AKL it'll probably be cheaper to get the discount and then pay for dining. But, that depends on how many of you there are and how many are adults (10 and over). The quickest way to check room rates is on allearsnet.com. So check the price during your stay. Deduct a percentage (20/30/40) to get the discount price. Add in for dining. Then figure the same using rack rate (non-discounted) and see if it's less than the package. Oh, and you'll have to figure at least a one day/one park ticket for each.

You can find out the rack rate for your resort at the link at the top of this page: wdwinfo (or something like that) It will take you to a page with all the resorts/room levels/seasons...

Then you have to add up dining and park tickets.

I make a huge spread sheet whenever I start to plan a trip. I price it all out. Then you can compare the various discounts! Have fun! :thumbsup2
