How do I fax a request to a resort

Most of the resorts are ignoring faxed requests. Just make sure that your requests are noted in your reservation and there is no need to fax.

Your better off if you just call and have your requests noted in your ressie. I always do and have always gotten my request. The resorts have more or less stopped with faxes. Too many for them to deal with.

I respectfully disagree... I have always faxed room requests a couple of days in advance (never putting anything on the reservation itself) and I have always gotten what I requested. Now, I will say that we don't request too much and we go offseason so that probably has a lot to do with it but I know that the resorts do check the faxed requests.

Also, jazz up the fax a little to make it more noticeable... I always use clipart and other things to make it stand out.

In the past, they may have looked at faxes... however, no longer.

Have to agree that they aren't paying attention. When we were there last month, I overheard some CM's talking at POR...a guest had asked if the fax they sent had been gotten and if their requests were honored. The CM just said that faxes were no longer used and that what was on the reservation for requests is what they looked at. But, evidently the guest got pretty much what they were looking for.

This is from the MousePlanet web site (10/2004):
Faxes and room requests
In the past, the Walt Disney World Resort was receptive to guests faxing their respective resort and making special room requests. I myself would fax my resort at the proper time, exactly four days before arriving. The fax would start off very complimentary to the resort and then follow with my request. In some cases the request would involve a specific building, specific floor, specific view, or even a specified range of room numbers.

Unfortunately, some of the resorts have discontinued this practice of taking requests over the last few years. All is not lost, however. If you wish to make specific room requests, my suggestion is to do so at the time of your booking. The resort you are booking with will receive this information along with your reservation. I have tried this and it seems to work. After all, first-come, first-served.
And from Anita Answers column on AllEarsNet.com (05/30/05)
One final tip: Always make your room requests at the time you make your reservation. Please do not fax or phone in room requests to the resort.
