How do I extend expiration date for SW ticketless travel funds?

I'm sorry. I know this has been asked before, but the search function is working so slooowly on my computer.

I just cancelled our 2nd trip to WDW this year. We have nonrefundable ticketless travel funds on Southwest of about $600 that expire June 26. There are threee different confirmation numbers b/c I booked each flight one way, and I put dh on a different flight on one leg. What I think I should do is:
- put all three confirmations numbers on one flight so I have one confirmation number
-cancel that flight
-call Southwest to pay the $50 (is it still $50?) to extend the funds for 6 months

Will this work? Do I phone SW before or after June 26.

Thanks! DH has been out of work. Hoping he gets a job in the next 6 months.

I called SW this afternoon as I have a credit that is due to expire in a couple of weeks. The agent told me that I must call back on the day that they expire or after it expires. They cannot due anything until that day. I'm hoping to get an agent who waves the $50 fee as my credit is just under $50. I can hope, right? good luck and hope your husband finds work soon. :goodvibes

You need to wait until the credits expire before they can be renewed -- call the day after. You will be charged the $50 for EACH itinerary, however, so in your case you would have to lose $150, rather than $50.

The downside to your suggested strategy to reduce the fees is that SWA always reserves the right to refuse to extend the credit, and they *could* do so if they saw you do an obvious work-around to avoid paying the add'l fees.

Personally, I'd ask over on Flyertalk to see if I could find anyone who has successfully done it, before I tried.

I just did it. My TTF expired on 6/12 so before that date i booked a round trip refundable ticket so that I could use the whole credit. I had $559 in credits under 2 names. Booked a refundable flight for $565 and put the extra $6 on my credit card. I booked the flight in just my name using both credits. Then I cancelled the flight, got a refund to my credit card for the $6 and then the credits were only in one name. On 6/15 I called SW to extend my credit and was only charged $50 cause it was all in one name. She said she would e-mail me my voucher and I had it the next day.
