How do I change RV size/type on reservation?

We just had to buy a new RV after our C-Class was wrecked by an impaired driver.
(Funny thing is that we were directly in front of the RV dealer, we were headed in for a minor service appointment!)
Anyway, we have a couple of upcoming reservations and since we no longer have a C-Class but are changing to a towable travel trailer, how do I chang that information?
I can't find that anywhere online, do I have to call?
Thanks friends for any information!

Sorry to hear about your MH getting totaled. That stinks and I hope everyone was ok.

I don't know of a place to mark your "type" of RV. In the pre-checkin screen you have options to request "Close to Transportation" or " Close to comfort station". The Fort doesn't really care what type of setup you have when they are assigning sites. Just what level of site (Tent/Popup, Full, Preferred, Premium or Premium Meadows) you reserved.

So they don't place you based on RV length?
Yeah, we were not hurt. I was driving behind in our car, because the RV was going to be staying there while a part was on order!
The thing that made me angry is that the other guy (imparied guy) was in really bad shape and I had to go and save his life. Hope he appreciated that.

There isn't any place to indicate your length. When I had my 42ft 5er, I would call down in advanced and have a note put on our reservation.

I'm an old ED and trauma ICU nurse. It was frustrating to patch people up who had done stupid things to themselves, but it is part of the gig. Glad you both are fine.

Wow...certainly not the usual way to get a new camper, but glad you are ok! Hope you enjoy the new one. :)
I know our TA made sure she knew our length and how many slides, but I don't think she does many reservations at the Fort ;)

For the OP, help me: I'm an engineer so I need DATA.

- What level of site do you currently have reserved?
- How long was your old Class C?
- How long is your new travel trailer?

Thanks!

We booked a full hook up site
Old c-class is 31' (slides on both sides & awning)
New towable 37' (slides on both sides & awning)

Based on Ed's engineering data request, you should be fine. There are some really long full hook up sites. Just call a couple weeks out and let them know your length so they can fit you in a correct length site.

You should be fine.

If it were me no update/change would be needed.

Have a great trip.

And sorry to hear about the accident, at least you guys are ok. And you have a new toy.

You will be fine in many of the Full sites. Like all the loops, there are some shorter sites and some nice long sites. If the assigned site is too small or not to your liking, you can call back or drive up to the Outpost check in office and they can reassign you to a different site, if one is available. Calling down, at least several days before arrival, and having your total length (trailer and truck) added will help them assign a longer site. That has worked for me most of the time.

The check in booths (and office) also have a book with site lengths and you can work with them to get a site that is just right. We did that this past January. We also reserved a Full site. I had called down a couple of weeks in advanced and said my MH was 42ft and I had a car, so a site at least 60ft would be great. We arrived about 9am and our assigned site wasn't ready. I asked for any long site that was ready. It did take 2 tries to get one long enough, but I was nicely settled in 1624 by 10am.

There were a number of us down in January, of various lengths, staying in the Full sites and we all had really nice sites.

Thanks everyone! Now on to reviewing all the other camping bookings I've made for the next 12 months!

You can also after disconnecting stager the TV a little so it excludes the tounge. And most places will have some sort of overflow parking. Most of the smaller state parks we go to there is room to move the TV to the side of the TT. Good to check though. Have fun and good luck with the new TT!
