I have been reading the ww stuff that I have picked up at the meetings and it says to aim for 28 activity points a week. What I can't find is how to get them. Can anyone tell me?

in, I think it's the 3rd werek of the program, you'll get your activity points slider and that will help you out.

In our meetings, our leader says not to stress too much about activity until then..she wants the first 2 weeks to be conetered on learning the food part of the program :)

Blondy -- I use e-tools and there is a list on there of various activities and their points values -- if there is something you'd like me to look up for you, I'd be glad to.

Jennifer - Like Wogger said, in your week 3 meeting, you'll get a activity slider that will help you calculate your daily activity points according to your weight and how long and hard you work out.

Thank you all for the information. I can understand why they want you to wait until week 3 since trying to figure out the point system has been a little challenging. I'll wait until next week.

WHAT?! That seems high to me, and I've exercised while doing WW for over a year now, and NEVER earned that many APs in one week. Even a one hr workout would only earn me 3 APs, at best, and even less now on maintenance. Ugh! Maybe I'm doing the wrong type of exercising, but 4 APs a day would take more time than I already take.

Kim - I know what you mean about the 28 AP a week being high, but it's not unheard of. I could earn atleast 5 points a day easily doing hard cardio (running or ellptical) in an hour at my weight (167). It gets harder to earn a lot of points as my weight goes down, which isn't a bad thing ;)

I think when your on maintenance, you don't have to worry so much about it :goodvibes

I just hit week 3 this past Saturday and I'm trying to figure out all this AP stuff. Is the general consensus that doing the elliptical at a pretty good pace counts as high intensity, or moderate? I also do spinning classes, would that count as high intensity? I don't feel like the sweating thing is a good indicator for me because even when I'm working hard I don't sweat alot, so I'm not sure how to count my exercise.

I agree with someone else, hitting 28 AP a week is going to be impossible unless some of what I'm doing counts as high intensity exercise. I did 35 minutes on the ellliptical this morning and 20 minutes of weight training and if I count that as moderate activity I only earned 3 AP. If I do a similar routine 6 days a week, that's only 18 AP. Sorry, but 6 hours a week at the gym is going to have to be enough, I can't do anymore! I get there at 5:30 when it opens just to do that much.

I never earn 28 points a week. I try to do the TM every day, which gets me 2 points, plus whatever else I plug in. As long as I am losing weight, I don't care.
