Was just booking on the phone w/ Disney and was asked if I was an AP. I said I didn't understand? How do I become an AP and what benefits come whith this?

You can buy an Annual pass online at disneyworld.com or buy one at WDW when you get there ( some of the Disney stores sell them too, I think). AP holders are sometimes offered special discounts etc through out the year.

You can buy an annual pass at any Disney store or online via Disney's website, or through your travel agent. They are also available at a few Orlando-area venues. The AP is good for admission to the 4 theme parks for one year from the time you activate it (i.e. enter a theme park). It also entitles you to special offers and discounts on various things like golf and mini-golf, meals at certain restaurants, boat rentals, spa treatments, water park admissions, etc. etc. There are also frequently substantial discounts on resort room rates. Go to the DIS home page and click on the Annual Passholders Discounts link on the right hand side to go to a page describing the benefits of the AP. One warning about those APs, though - once you have one, it's an excuse to plan another trip!

Hi. Our family has purchased AP's 3 times (once again this year). We always let our pass expire and then just purchase again when we go--as needed. Then we go again the next summer under the same pass, so it saves a LOT on tickets. (for example, we might go in July one summer and June the next- still in the same year). Thus, my family has gone 5 times to Disney under 3 annual passes (we hope to use this year's pass next year too). You can get major discounts on rooms, 10% discounts on some eating places, and even 10% on some shopping and extra program stuff... it is very worth it, especially if you are going to use the pass for 8 or more days. Also, it seems that you can book your room as an annual pass holder before you actually have your pass. We always book our room under the AP rate, then buy the pass when we get to Florida during the years that our passes expire (or now, we could buy them at the disney store- this is a fairly new way to get the AP). You just have to be ready to present your pass when you check in to the hotel. As long as you have the pass by then, no problem. If you take a look at the room savings and benefits, and compare it to how much you'll spend with tickets otherwise, it might come out to be a very good deal. Good luck!

I just booked at WL. I had received a postcard that nothing more than invited me back seeing that I had stayed there at a deluxe last Nov.. I spoke to CM and asked about any specials. CM asked if I was an AP and I said -"whats an AP ". I guess not , then quoted me-Courtyard for 137.00 . So I booked but now read something about showing your AP at checkin. Am I @ $137 or are they going to ask for AP! HELP!

That's the postcard rate, all you will need is the postcard.

Thankyou for the reply. I really just asked for a good rate and could only get Courtyard. You saved my night. I'm happy again!
