I am hoping to do a timeshare presentation while in Orlando in exchange for some Universal tickets but one of the criteria for one that I am looking at (at Orange Lake Country Club) is this:

From the web site:

If you are from a country other than the United States, whether you are married or single, you have a $50,000 US equivalent gross combined income before taxes, and you have a valid US based credit card.

My ? I don't have a US back account. How do I go about getting a valid US based credit card? Is it even possible for a Canadian to get one? If so, please tell me how so I can do this timeshare presentation.

Thank you

We did not need a US credit card when we did a timeshare. I would try a few more sites. We did the one at Byron cove or something like that and got $90 in Disney dollars but in my opinion it was not worth the time wasted.

Thanks for the information.

I was kind of hoping to do one at Orange Lake since we will be staying there. We also will be staying at a Fairfield but not sure if Canadians can even do them there. Looking at their web site, they just list a bunch of US states that are eligible. I have e-mailed Fairfield to find out their requirements.

I don't think either place will say no to you Suzy with or without a CC. You will really like OL- very nice units.

Thanks for the info. Yes, really looking forward to our stay at Orange Lake. We have a two bedroom unit reserved. I think it is almost 1300 sq. ft!!!The new on site waterpark looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully we will get some nice enough weather that we will be able to enjoy it.

Thanks again for the info.

Hi. I stay in timeshares every year in Florida including OL & Fairfields. You are ALWAYS asked to tour the resort you are staying at and do not require anything other than the fact you are staying at resort. TIP do not take the first offer (on check in at gift or welcome counter). They will call your unit before the week is out and up the offer (cash or tickets). You can tour other timeshares you to do stay at by signing up at the booths at resturants, gas stations, stores malls etc. if they tour Canadians. Your canadian credit card is all that is required. Again negotiate the offer they will do better than first offer as they work on commission of tour booked. Therefore if you walk away they get nothing but will often give you part of the commission by uping offer.
