How do I apply for a seasonal job?

Hey there guys. I havent visited these forums in a good while. Since 2011 actually, right before my CP.

I did the fall advantage CP in January of last year. Full service Food and Beverage, which for anyone that does not know, is just a non-tipped FoH gig. I had two attendance reprimands (kind of a long story how that happened, but I actually fell and hurt my already injured knee while I was at work and ended up missing too much time) and I wasn't able to extend/apply for seasonal because of that.

So here I am now at home, its been 6 months since the end of my program. Ive been working on my plan for returning to Florida/Disney. Im a server at Chili's, which is ultimately what I want to do at Disney. However, I know there is a waiting list to serve at Diz, and I know you have to work your way up the ranks to get to serving. Im not planning on physically moving back to Florida until at least January of 2014, mostly because of finances, but there is a 6 month period between applications, so I want to apply now in case I don't get right in, and once I make seasonal I can worry about moving up to PT/FT later.

The problem Im having is, on the careers site I cant figure out how to apply for a seasonal job. All I can find is part time or full time, and it will only let me apply for open job listings. Does anyone know how I can apply for just a seasonal job?

Id really appreciate any help you can give me! Thanks!

Hello!

The first thought is to keep an eye on the Disney Careers site, especially if you're not in the Orlando/Disney area. They typically put up Roles on an as-need basis, with seasonal roles going up during the higher-volume parts of the year.

The next option is to go into casting if you're in the Florida/Disney area, as there could be jobs that are available that aren't up on the site quite yet. Casting is typically the first step where they'll look for eligible folks to fill the available roles.

If you want to get in as a server (which are still highly sought roles) position, I'd recommend going back to the Full Service Food and Beverage route. See if you could contact your old manager for a reference too, if possible.

Have a Magical Day! :smickey:

Yep I just called casting to ask them about it, the reason I couldnt find any seasonal jobs is because there are none currently lol. Even if there were I would still need to be there for interviews and what not (was hoping for a phone interview just like the CP, heh) which would be difficult because I live in NY. I guess Ill try to drop by casting when Im at Disney on vacation in a few months, other than that it looks like Ill have to secure a transfer within my own restaurant business to start my Florida life.

Thanks for the reply!

My BIL went to Casting one year on vacation and ended up getting a seasonal job, no problem- and he lives in Maine! Good luck!

They don't hire a whole lot of people seasonally, usually it's full or part timers who step down to seasonal. But we do see seasonal hires for the food and wine festival.

This would be best case scenario :) If not Ill have to be a little patient and wait until I actually move down there hehe, but at that point I wouldnt need seasonal anyway. Id want full time asap.
