How do Fastpasses work for MGM/DS shows?

Hi everyone! First post on this particular board--

I'm curious how Fastpasses work for the shows at MGM/DS. Are you given a FP for a particular show time and there is specific FP seating, or is there just a separate queue area, and they fill the theater with folks in the FP line first? Does a FP to a show pretty much guarantee you a seat?

Also, can you collect FP for all the shows you want to see first thing in the morning? Or is it like a standard FP and you have to wait a certain time-frame before picking up another?

I'm asking because we are a family with three young children, and we will probably only go to shows, and I would love to have the peace of mind of the shows scheduled.

(P.S., we are going in early December, so are all these questions moot?)

We got FP for Indiana Jones Stunt show but so did tons of other people. The FP line was looooong, so we ended up with seats all the way to the right side fourth row. Not the best seats, but I guess not the worst either.

Also got FP's for Millionaire and all it did was allow us into the lobby before everyone else. There are no special FP seating.

I think the FP's work the same as for anything else, you can't get one until after the time of your "current" FP. So no getting all the shows say at 9 a.m. , only one is allowed.

Anyone else experienced differently?

Only FP that's "different" is for Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Spectacular.

It allows you to ALSO have a single FP (per person) for another attraction almost immediately.

But the others will not allow you to just "collect" them all at once.

But in early Dec. (as you speculated) it simply won't matter.
Many FP machines will not even be in operation for the "shows".

BTW, the only "shows" that offer FP are Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Indy Stunt, and LMA Stunt.

B&B (the best daytime show at MGM) and Fantasmic! (the best evening show at MGM... some would say best at WDW) do not offer FP.
