How do Evening Magic Hours Work?

I am sure there are a million topics on this but I couldn't find it with a simple search.

We are traveling with some friends that will be staying onsite while we will be offsite. My friend wants to stay for evening magic hours and keeps insisting that my daughter can stay with them as her husband likes to leave early (so she thinks my dd can use his ticket).

No flaming please as I don't want to do this - I just want to be able to tell her no with the facts (she is very persistent). At first she started to say we could all stay as she just needed to show one band....

So... how does it really work? We have been a million times but have only stayed onsite once a long time ago. Thanks!

Each person staying needs to scan their magic bands to get on a ride. If you're staying offsite, your band won't work. Technically your DD could wear your friends husbands band and get on a ride.

Correct. Swap magic bands, (or hard plastic tickets if using those) and she can stay. If 10 people are in the park together and 4 are staying on site and 6 are staying off site, 4 of the 10 people can stay for EMH. Disney doesn't care and has no way of checking who is who, and who stays and who goes. So long as only 4 people are riding rides, all is good.

Not sure how you were going to coordinate your DD at the end of the night but ...

You can stay in the park with them, you just won't be allowed on the rides. But you can eat and shop.

This could work but it also means your husband cannot go back to the room as he would not have his MB to gain access to the room.

A room key-card still works to open the door in place of a MagicBand, just like the good old days. In today's world a room key-card is a RFID card that can be used interchangeable with a MB. You can request one or more at the front desk of the Disney Resort hotel.

So if you don't want to wear a MB, you can use a RFID enabled card. You can use it for more than just a room key, it can access your tickets and or FPs just like a MB or for purchases with a PIN code. The RFID cards require a touch-point to activate, they can't be read by the remote readers in some locations.

Yea easiest thing is to just swap bands. If you're fine with your daughter staying with your friends then she can use his band to enter rides as all EMH guests have to use the FP entrance to show their on site. And your friends husband will just need to request a card for the hotel room when they check in since he won't have his magic band.

Also those off site are not kicked out. Everyone can stay in the park but only those on site can do shows and rides
