The real difference between
DVC rooms and regular room is size and kitchens in larger villas, 1 BR and up. The studios do have a kitchenette but the only thing different than at a moderate resort is the extra sink and a toaster.
Regular WDW resort rooms:
Value resort rooms - 260 square feet
Moderate resort rooms - 314 sq. ft.
Deluxe resort rooms:
AKL and WL - 344
BC & YC - 381
BWI - 371
Contemporary Resort - 394
Polynesian Resort - 415
Grand Floridian - 440 Sq. ft.
The DVC square footages are as follows:
The square footage for each resort's two bedroom villa:
AKV Kidani - 1173
Jambo - 1075
Value - 945
BCV - 1083
BLT - 1152
BWV - 1073
OKW - 1395
SSR - 1075
VWL - 1080
Or consider a three bedroom villa at the Treehouse Villas at SSR. They sleep 9 and currently the point cost (on the 2009 and 2010
point charts) is the same as a 2 BR at SSR. The square footage is 1074.
The one bedroom villas have similar rankings as the 2 BRs where OKW is number 1, Kidani #2 and BLT #3.
AKV Kidani - 807
Jambo - 710
Value - 629
BCV - 726
BLT - 803
BWV - 712
OKW - 942
SSR - 714
VWL - 727
BLT falls behind everyone (except a Value Studio at Jambo) in comparing Studio villas. Once again OKWs Studios are the largest.
AKV Kidani - 366
Jambo - 365
Value - 316
BCV - 365
BLT - 329
BWV - 359
OKW - 390
SSR - 344
VWL - 356
Grand Villa Comparisons - BCV and VWL are only the WDW DVC resorts that do not have Grand Villas. Jambo House and OKW are the largest with OKW having the end. However, a Jambo GV is all on one floor whereas OKW is on two floors.
AKV Kidani - 2201
Jambo - 2349
BLT - 2044
BWV - 2142
OKW - 2375
SSR - 2113
