How do codes work??

Ok I need help here. Please explain how these codes that everyone is talking about work and when should I book if I am looking to go next year late Sep-Mid Dec (have not decided when)
any advise on that too?? PLLLLLEEASSE Help

Disney has "codes" they'll publish in newspapers and other advertising that you can give to get discounted prices on rooms. Sometimes they're for anyone - sometimes just for residents of certain states. They wouldn't have anything now for NEXT Sept - Dec - they usually come out a few months before the time they're good for. Go to www.mousesavers.com and she has them all listed for you!

People will often book their dates in advance and then when codes come out they will use the codes to have their rates adjusted. I have never done this but certainly many people describe doing it.

I booked this past July for a Sept. trip. I think the codes came out late May or early June. My family goes in Sept., after Labor Day. It is Value season, so you get the best rates. The parks are not crowded at all. The longest wait we had for any ride or attraction was 10-12 minutes. Never even needed a fastpass.

Disney only has a specific number of rooms for the codes, so I would recommend calling as soon as you see them come out. As mentioned earlier, mousesavers.com is a great place to keep up with what codes are available at any given time. Also, you can sign up for a free monthly e-mail newsletter.

I made our ressie on-line at the disneyworld.com website, for this past June, in October 2001! Then when I found out about "codes" here on the boards, I called back and asked if I could apply code "XYZ" to my reservation, & they said yes. That's all there was to it!
