A week ago my boss called me at home (his boss was on the phone also) to tell me that if everything works out as planned I would be getting promoted and transferred to a new position (along with my wife who works for the same company). Great opportunity, nice raise, future growth, nice area to move to (only a few hours from home). What goes through my mind? More DVC points coming our way! This is the second time I've got this kind of call. In late May the same situation came up but fell through (when you're transferring two people within the same company it gets more difficult).
Anyway, this time things are getting real. Wife has a phone interview, they like her and her boss tells her as long as my position works out, we're good. Well, Friday afternoon my boss calls me to his office where I get the news that my position has fallen through. The guy I was going to replace turned down a different position with the company. How depressing.
After a couple hour funk, I realize how bad can it be? Company must like us as this is the second time in 6 months they've attempted to move us up. And we leave for WDW next Wednesday. Now that will put a smile on your face. Talk about putting things in perspective. One of our sons is a senior in H.S. and we were struggling with moving in the middle of his senior year (he probably would have stayed with grandma, but we didn't want to miss all the fun senior year stuff). Now we don't have to worry about that. And in less than a week we'll be Foodn + Winen around the world at Epcot. The Dis saves us again!!!!
