I see a lot of people trying to decide between resort A and resort B. How hard is it to stay a couple days at one, and a couple days at another?

We've never had the money before where we've had much of a choice of resorts. This time is different. We could be happy at almost any moderate or delux resort...so I don't know which one to choose!! We've stayed at POR once, and liked it a lot, but I'd like to try something new.

Which resort has the most comfortable beds?? :)
Which one has the greatest pool?? My kids LOVE to swim...whose don't lol.
Which resort (don't say POP!) do little kids like the best?

And as long as you're helping me decide on things...
When to go...end of April or beginning of May...or no real difference?
How long to stay...we have real young kids...4, 5 or 6 nights?
Keep in mind we just went in October and aren't looking to see it all. Our goals are to go to a waterpark and go on the Peter Pan ride, see Mickey and Minnie, and enjoy some more good food!! Maybe I should be focusing on the food and not on the resort?
Ds doesn't like character meals...where should we eat? I think we'll go ahead and get the dining plan. Loved that in Oct. I've heard it has changed though? Not so great this year?

Ok, I'm a little excited here that we get to go back again. The kids have been asking and I can't believe we can actually do it, and our budget is much more flexible!!

What fun to have money to vacation where you want!

The great thing about moving up to a deluxe is the bigger beds and at many of the resorts an additional daybed/sofa in your room. You also get (usually but not universally) a private balcony or patio. I also like the closer proximity to at least one park. Oh, and more dining options per hotel. In fact if you stay at a monorail resort, you have the ease of using the monorail to travel to all the restaurants in the park and in the resorts on the loop very quickly. If you stay at an Epcot resort, you are near all the restaurants in that park in addition to nearby (walking distance) resorts.

Since the resort have themes, which theme grabs you the most? I think all of the deluxe pools are so beautifully done that "best" will be subjective. For example, my daughter loves the smaller slides because the more exotic ones (with tunnels/steep drops) scare her. But my son is a total daredevil and wants the challenge of a wild ride. There you have it; even within my family we don't agree.

If your going to do a split stay....you need at least 3 nights at each resort.
I would choose WL....the place is awesome, you feel so relaxed when
you are there.

Split stay I would do WL/POFQ. Pofq is small.....great themed pool for
little kids...and 1st on and off the bus.
I would go in the beginning of May. Kids are out of school the end of
April....thats when I'm going....I think it will be very crowded.

Of course if you could swing the poly....convenience of the monorail...I might
just pick that.

If the money is there, I would go with a deluxe on the monorail (CR would probly be my first choice, followed by GF, but I cant really speak for the pools at any of the resorts as we never use them). If you dont want to splurge quite that much, I would look at one of the Deluxe - Lites like WL or maybe the YC...both seem to have great pools and great locations, even if they arent on the monorail loop.

I would only consider a split stay if you have a car and can transport your own luggage. Last summer we were at POFQ and then transferred to OKW and had to rely on bell services to move our luggage. When we checked in at OKW our room was not ready yet...so our luggage had to just sit there until they had somewhere to put it. We saw it on a luggage cart right next to the bell services desk and it was completely unattended. When we came back to the resort a few hours later...it was still there. Once we were in our room we called and asked for them to bring it over. They said no problem, they would be right there. Well about 45 minutes went by and nothing. We finally just walked over and started pushing the cart ourselves. No one even questioned it. By my estimation our luggage sat on that cart out in the sun for approx four hours. I was not impressed!

We used to do split stays all the time, and it was pretty easy. We always had a car, though, so that may have a lot to do with it. We don't anymore, though, since our Orlando vacations usually involve only four nights at Disney and two at Universal now. One change is enough for us.

I've stayed at all the deluxe and moderate hotels, and in my opinion the Beach Club has the best pool. It's amazing. As a kid, my favorite resorts were AKL and the Beach Club. It's hard to get anywhere from AKL, though, so we always stay at the Beach Club now.

We've switched resorts quite a few times over our trips - the part that bothers me is packing everything back up and making sure I have all the little extras such as chargers that I'd be lost without.

Bell services has always worked out well, they promise our luggage will be over at the next resort by 4pm and it always has been. I just bring what we needed or that is valuable with us when we travel over to the new place and check in. If perchance your room isn't ready they have lockers at the pool areas and a safe available for guests. It eats up a little bit of your day, but it's a great way to experience more places so you know what you do & don't like.
