If they are NOT your home resort for the month of December or F&W?

I still cant decide our home resort and cant buy into all three.

Thanks.

It seems from what most people say,.VwL is the hardest to get in at Christmas.BCV is more difficult at food and Wine Festival. BLT is new but it is a pretty large resort so time will tell, It may be hard to get a MK view, but the other rooms maybe. Most people say buy where you love. I did not follow that advice. I bought where I could buy the most points for the most reasonable price. It has worked out for me so far. I have stayed at allot of the DVC's and gotten all my requests so far. Would I be disappointed if I had to stay at SSR' no way it is a beautiful resort. But so far I have only stayed there once and I am enjoying staying all around WDW. I travel in the srring and summer so I have ALWAYS gotten my requests as long as I call at the 7 month mark. I have never tryed Christmas because I like to be home with my extended family. Good Luck with your decision.:dance3:

Agree with the post above....the hardest at this time may be BCV just because of its location to the F&W itself. But never give up hope....last year I was able to get my inlaws in BCV for the last week of F&W at about 2 months. I also called pretty much everyday and booked a day as they popped up, then linked them.

As far as availability at the BCV at F & W time, remember that BWV is also there and just as convenient. :thumbsup2 Between the two of them, you should get something at 7 months.

BWV is also a larger resort than BCV, which helps your odds. I was able to book a standard view studio at BWV for Halloween weekend with less than 3 months notice. My sole purpose of the visit was F & W Festival so needless to say I was thrilled - I thought for sure my only choices were going to be OKW and SSR.

OP, I'm sure you've heard it before, but I'll say it again. Buy at the resort you would most like to stay at.

I'm going to chime in here to say "it depends on what size villa you're looking for." Friends have been on the waitlist for a 2BR at BWV (preferred view since there are more rooms) for the last week of Oct./first part of Nov. since the 7 month window opened. So far no luck.

So now, we're staying 5 days on my points at BWV and then move to OKW (we love OKW so it's no problem).

We own VWL for our December trips and BWV for October trips to F&W. As others told you, you may be able to get BCV or BWV at 7 months because there are so many more villas available. VWL is fairly small and is very popular at Christmas.

We started with BWV, then added points at VWL and then AKV (for our spring trips.) Pick the one you like best to start with and buy there. You can maybe add others in the future.

I think VWL will be the hardest to get for Dec. Then BCV for Food and Wine and last, SV rooms at BLT will be the hardest to come buy at 7 months.

Getting BLT LV rooms should not be a problem for Food and Wine at 7 months but a bit more difficult in December due to MVMCP at the MK.

MK view is going to be hit or miss. There are some LV rooms at BLT (and possibly some SV rooms) that have partial MK views as well as a view of the fireworks (we had one) so I think it will be interesting to see what happens with demand. For the point difference, some, like me, will do SV or LV and hope that on occassion we get one of those "fireworks view" rooms.

There is hope though as I was able to get VWL for 6 nts in December this year and am REALLY looking forward to checking it out. :thumbsup2

With any of these resorts you won't be successful everytime after the non-home window opens during those times of year, but you will be successful sometimes. The trick is to be flexible and call as soon as the non-home resort window opens.

I just booked BCV for Christmas this year (7 month window) with no problems. Studio.. week of Christmas.. as I recall VWL was available as well when I booked.

This year seems to be unusual. I don't know if the economy has made a lot of people combine trips, or postpone trips - or if a whole lot of people traveled at less common DVC times, or wanted to stay at SSR - but my PERCEPTION is that there is a lot more availability - and unusual availability - this year than there has been in previous years.

This has NOTHING to do with your question, but the thread right after yours when I was just looking at the boards was "Kidani showers?" So, reading quickly through titles, I read....

"How difficult to get into.....Kidani showers?"

:rotfl:

To my knowledge there is little difficulty getting into the showers at Kidani!

:rotfl2:

(Sorry to the OP or anyone else, but I thought this was funny and had to post it!)

My perception is the same as yours. IMO, I think as soon as the economy improves, reports of successful 7 month booking for the smaller resorts will decrease.

That said, far more are disappointed at 7 months than are successful, even now. Most reports of success seem to be for bookings for the less popular times or from waitlists working.

In the end, the numbers rule. The number of rooms at the smaller resorts isn't increasing, but the number of members trying to reserve them is.

Buy where you won't mind staying if you can't change at 7 months.
