How difficult to add one more person?

I've already made our dining reservations for May for our party of 7, but we may have one more person going with us if all works out for her. Is it possible/difficult to call and add one more to our reservations without changing times and such? Is it even allowed or would I have to make completely new reservations?

Call and try. Usually going from an odd number to an even number (i.e. 3 people to 4 people, or 7 people to 8 people) isn't as difficult as trying to go from an even number to an odd number (4 people to 5 people).

Most tables sit even numbers - 4 people, 8 people, etc. depending on the restaurant and the table size. So going from 7 to 8 should be possible. However you never quite know until you call. Disney Dining reservations are a bit strange in this regard.

We had the exact same situation last October and we called about 10 days before and added 1. As the previous person stated going from odd to even seemed to be no problem. There was only 1 they couldn't guarantee me but we checked at the counter a little ways ahead of time and they said no problem. Hopefully the same will work out for you. Good Luck:goodvibes

I tried to do this exact thing this summer, party of 7 to party of 8. The cast member I talked to would not just add one person, she said she had to rebook the reservation and of course there was nothing available. I decided to stick with the reservations I had and take the chance it would be OK when I checked in. I did not have any problems other than when I checked in at Mama Melrose's. They were very rude and told us we would have to wait up to two hours that the table was for only for 7 people. That was funny because there was not a table around us that was for 7 people. We were seated in 30 minutes. I still think she made us wait just because she didn't want us to stay.
