How difficult is booking aulani in late june 7 month window?

I have 160 Aulani points purchased on a 2012 cruise. I added another 100 points but was talked into getting them at AKV. I am regretting that move now. I have a trip planned for 2014 to Aulani but wanted to add a few more nights but now need to wait for 7 month window. We have a 2 bedroom pool view reserved for 7 nights and want to add 5 more nights using my AKV points.

You can buy one time use points from Disney once a year. They are $15.00 a point. You can get up to 24 points . Oops misread ,thought you needed 5 points . Doh! I got 1 bedroom in February 2014 at 7 months no problem.

Last summer we booked at the 7 month mark and we were able to get the week / room we wanted (This was prior to the other half of the resort opening up). We are faced with the same situation again this year, looking to book for 2 weeks at the 7 month mark. What makes it more difficult is that if I book our airfare now I can get 5 of us from PA to Hawaii for $1,400 (with my miles). If I wait to November to book our airfare I am positive I wont be able to ge the same reward levels for our airfare...... With all that being said I am banking on my dates being there based on prevous experience....But I would call right at the 7 month mark if I were you.

I think since you are doing a pool view, you'll be okay. People have complained about no availability in June for Standard and Island view, but not many have mentioned Pool or Ocean View rooms not available. To be safe I'd book right at the 7 month mark.

I just booked Aulani at 7 months for Island view studio during presidents day weekend. One of the days was booked so I had to waitlist it which i got. Ocean view was wide open though.

Thanks for the response . That makes me feel better about adding my 5 additional days. I also looked at airfare and I can get some flights thru lax for reduced miles but was unable on non-stop flights which is my preference so looking at about 1100 pp on airfare.
