How difficult is a split stay?

We decided to fly in a day early but our current resort is booked so we are going to have to stay elsewhere. How difficult is the switch? I hear the bell stand will transfer your luggage, do they do it fairly quickly? I assume they have a few hours as checkout is 11 and check in is 3.

Depends on your definition of “quickly.” I believe luggage is transferred in the late afternoon.

We find it very easy. Give our luggage to Bell Services in the AM then off to the parks for the day.

In our experience, our luggage has been ready at resort #2 between 3PM-5PM.

Luggage transfers happen in the afternoon, so you can’t really count on having access to your luggage until 4 PM or later. Anything you’ll need before that should be kept with you during the day. We’ve used that service in the past and were happy with it — dropped off our luggage with bell services and headed to the parks, went on to the new resort later!

We have party tickets on day 2 and would like our luggage in our room before we leave around 3. So maybe best to Uber to our second resort after checkout with our luggage and leave it with their bellhop?

Super duper easy! Love doing split stays! You get to enjoy two resorts on one trip!

If you're wanting to leave for the party around 3, definitely bring your luggage to resort #2. Just be aware that officially, check in starts at 3PM. So there's a slight possibility that you won't be able to get into your room at resort #2 until after 3PM.

That’s what we’d do in that situation.

We’re split stayed at least four times, as different kids got to pick which resort. Never, ever had a problem and luggage there by 4:30 (for us) at the latest.
Now it’s just DH and me with a split stay in DVCs this coming January - 6 days WL, 5 nights AKL. Anyone have experience with transfer of needs-to-be refrigerated items? Thanks

Items will be refrigerated until they actually leave resort #1 for transfer. They are not refrigerated during the move which may tale some time to complete

We have done split stays several times and it was no problem. However, we always have a car. Without a car, I would Uber over so you are in control of the move and your luggage goes with you.
