My kid is a little too tentative for roller coasters - but she is now tall enough for Soarin. She's been in airplanes a lot and also glass elevators. How did your LO like their first time on Soarin', and are they a thrill-seeker?

All of mine loved their first flights (and all subsequent ones) on Soarin'! I'm a firm believer in showing excitement and positivity about rides so that little children have no reason to be timid. All of my kids even rode Tower of Terror at age 3 because they were tall enough and I told them nothing is scary at Mickey's house, just magical! Have fun!

Totally agreed with the PP. My daughter has gone on everything as soon as her height allowed and playing it up as fun and exciting is a great tip. Also, since it's not a fast moving ride, the sensation is very different from a coaster and will likely elicit a much different response.

My 4yo is a little timid, so we really talked up Soarin and she ended up loving it. Well, all except for the fireworks at the end because she just doesn't like fireworks. I was pleasantly surprised that she enjoyed it.

My son didn't ride it until he was 5. He is a bit timid. We had Fast Pass for it. He was really anxious about it. Plus he was only with me, so he would have to sit next to a stranger. Well, naturally as we got all the way up to a door to board, he had to go to the bathroom...
Anyhow, we went to the bathroom and were allowed back through FP line (thank goodness!)...he rode it and he LOVED it. We had gotten 3 special FP (we were family of the day for the Seas), and we used everyone on Soarin' back to back. LOL

Thanks everyone! I think she will be ok, then - she loves flying, but wasn't thrilled about Barnstormer last year. 7DMT may be another story... :-\

My youngest was 3 when she first went on it and she loved it! She wanted to go over and over again (which we did since it was rope drop). :)

Mine loved it, but her favorite ride is Splash Mountain so I'm guessing she's a thrill junkie :)

My daughter was not a thrill ride kid when she was little. At age 3, she absolutely loved Soarin. I told her ahead of time that it would feel like she was flying like Peter Pan. After the ride, she looked at me like I was an idiot and said "That was not flying like Peter Pan-- we were in a hang glider. We were flying like Diego."

My guy was 5 when he first went on it but he loved it. Although test track has now taken away his love for soarin lol.

My son turned 3 in June 2014....and our fam Disney trip was 11-20 thru 11/28. He did great!!!
He road Soarin' 3 times and was never afraid. He also road all rides 40" and taller including Tower of Terror! At that time he was barely 40"....but he seemed to have a blast!

I have kids that are not really big ride kids, they are doing more and more as they get older. The first time we brought them, they were 4 and 6 years old and absolutely LOVED Soarin and it remains one of their favorites. It's pretty mild and a lot of fun!

Both of my girls rode it for the first time when they were three. They both LOVED it. My oldest daughter was a little leery and nervous when it first "took flight" but she quickly got into it. My youngest was thrilled the entire time.

We did Soarin' at California Adventure park and my DD then 4.5 LOVED it! It was her favourite after the carousels.

She screamed "wheeeee!" the whole time, and then totally lost her marbles when the ride was over. LOVED it. She's a risk taker.

What's the height limit on Soarin'?
