How did you pass the time until you confirmed your date?

We are pencilled in and have to wait until July to confirm our date. I'm just wondering if any of you periodically checked with your consultant to see if anyone else was pencilled in at the same locations/times? I'm getting very nervous about us not being able to get what we want. Were you entered into a lottery in the end? How did it turn out?

My consultant encouraged me to call her once a month to check on the status of our venues, so I did, every single month on the same day, she even would joke with me whenever I was off by a day or two ROFL.

I did end up in the lottery, but I won! The ladies here contributed with loads of good wishes amd pixie dust too, I was a nervous wreck, but when my consultant called DH with the awesome news and then me, I was over the moon!

I find out in 4 days whether or not we will get our ceremony and reception locations and I have been a nervous wreck for the past week!! For the most part to pass time I have occasionally emailed my consultant with questions about the spaces and she has been more than helpful answering them and assuring me that she would do everything to get us our spaces! It really is terrible sitting and counting down the days until you get the phone call but in the end it will all hopefully work out and will be worth it

I am also Penciled in and can confirm at 16 months (in feb 2011), but also remember that even though your confirmed, if a convention (if you venue applies to ballrooms and such) comes in before you actually sign the contract (at 12 months) you will be out of luck. So I will be nervous until I get to SIGN something saying that it is my date.

I don't like the way disney did this, but I guess really can't complain too much, but I think having to bite your nails and be nervous for another 4 months hoping that a convention doesn't bump you out now that you think you've got your date is going to be pretty hard!

I had to wait 2 months before I could hold my date at 16 months and then wait to hear if a convention would come in for 4 months. I was lucky not to have to go into a lottery situation. I'm sure I would have lost!

Trust me, those months flew by! I feel like now that I am signing my contract (just got it yesterday), I am behind!

During those months, I also emailed my consultant logistical questions about almost everything and she answered the best she could.

I also focused on details of my wedding that I could control outside of Disney - like my photography, researching wedding websites I wanted to use, color schemes and ideas for centerpieces. I also found and purchased my dress.

sometimes i think you're living in my brain, lol. i was just thinking about this today. i was going thru the calendar and having minor panic attacks. i'm so nervous because the fantasmic! schedule and the wishes schedule won't be out until 6 months prior and they are 2 major players in our wedding/rehearsal. since we're pencilled in as well, i'm going to call every month or so to check on our venue. hopefully no convention decides they need a room for 50 people at 6pm on a monday until july 5th i plan on taking care of my dress, our rings, e-pix, hair trial and starting on favors, etc. all things that need to be done that i won't want to pay for when i'm in after-LOA mode. hopefully time flies by!!
