How did you join VMK Beta (pirates beta?)

When VMK went Beta how did you beta people find out about it?

Does anyone know anything about the pirates mmo beta?

I know I missed out on a lot of really cool things in VMK.
Any info would be appreciated.

I joined the first day of Beta someone posted on the rewards board about it pre beta and actually if you were a member of Disney.com before beta you could have joined during Alpha, but most did not know.

The alpha is what I am more curious on, do you know when that actually started, I know some that were there but can't grasp the date that was opened. BTW it sounds like it was weird since there was not many people it was very "small town" from what I understand. I started in the end of May 2005 but it seemed like many back then were around foreer...lol

The Pirates of the Caribbean Massive Multiplayer Online game. I imagine it to be somewhat like VMK, more intense, and probably not in the magic kingdom.

Someone posted a Press Release for it here a couple of weeks ago (cant seem to find it), but here is another link.

POC MMO is the abbreviation/accronym everyone is using.

You know I remember seeing the releases about VMK, thinking "oh that will be cool," alas waiting too long to get involved we missed out on alot.

And it is due for release later 2006 so, it should be Beta time now or soon.

I learned about beta from a Disney Adventures magazine. Wasn't there a little gap between beta and alpha? I kept checking back every day, and eventually was able to join. But I was foolish and got NO BETA ITEMS. >_<

I joined the first day of Beta as well, but had a long few month break (which I now regret) from around August to the end of December.

I had been following it since the press release.

I don't know why people think Beta was so amazing... sure, there was not as much taken or bay be nonsense, but as well there were no host events, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, staff, anything.

Last spring I saw a tiny little advertisement for it on www.disneyworld.com and clicked on it. I registered, thought it was cute, then sent the link to my DH CapeCAD who likes to play online games like that with my DS14 (almost 15! lol) such as neopets and other games that I don't remember right now. He ended up really exploring the game and was into before I was, even though I had registered on there first. In fact, the first several names I tried to choose kept getting turned down, so when I saw that his name "capecad" was accepted I just typed in "CapeGirl" because I was tired of trying to come up with acceptable names. lol I didn't buy any beta furniture either... I wasn't into creating rooms back then. DH bought a lot of beta stuff and still has some of it in his store rooms

Does anyone know anything about the pirates mmo beta?

DH and I would LOVE a game dedicated to Pirates of the Caribbean!! Does anyone have any info on this??

It reminds me of Star wars Galaxies, and that new Stargate one they are making. Who knows might beat 'em both!! But it definitely is cool !!
