i had back surgery 7 years ago and we were planning a trip i yahooed and found this place, it has really grown over the years , remember they crashed and every one lost thier post counts?

Probably through a general seach. I was planning our 2001 trip I lurked for a few months before registering.

I won a trip to Disney a couple of years ago and we were being put up at the Yacht Club. Not knowing anything about it, I googled it one night just to read up on it and it lead me to the Resorts board here on the Dis. I have never left. LOL.

I was posting regularly on a cruise board and someone posted a link to a review of one of RCI's ships. They posted the link because the review was very nit-picky and really quite amusing that it was so nit-picky. This person's cruise was simply "ruined" by so many minute details that is was just simply ridiculous. I could tell by the review that it was actually a very lovely cruise, just not to this person. I ended up finding the DIS because it was linked on that person's website. I went to the Debate Board first and lurked there for many months. Finally chimed in at one point and soon after the Debate Board was closed, so I came to the CB and I've been here ever since.

I was a fairly active participant on another Disboard but I got so disgusted with the leadership that bordered on fascist (No need to go anywhere else! We're the only Disney site you need!) that I left and came to the DIS. I had visited before, but had always been a bit intimidated. That ended quickly, though, and I really enjoy this group.

I can't really remember. I think it was through a link from another website. I lurked for over a year--maybe even two--before I ever even thought of posting. I think it may have been several months between posta in the beginning. How active I am and where I'm posting really depends on what else I'm doing.

I used to be a very frequent member of About.com and Delphi forums in the past. When I was planning my Disney trip last spring, someone told me about the Dis, so I hopped over here and just started posting here instead of the About forum I was a regular on.

I had booked a disney cruise, and did a google. I found Barb & Tony (of the many Disney cruises) web site, and it linked me to DIS. I didn't venture of the cruise board for probably 9 months.

Back in '99-'00, I was on the AOL Theme parks boards a lot....must have followed a link to over here. Soooo much happier here. I never check those old AOL boards anymore. Haven't been back for many years.

I was planning my wedding on ultimate wedding site, soon we decided we'd like to go to Disney for our honeymoon. We decided on Pop Century since it was brand new and affordable for us. Well later in the week my husband's father let us know their wedding gift for us would be a Disney Honeymoon, they didn't even know we had already planned one lol..but they are DVC members, so uinstead of staying at Pop we stayed at BWV and love dit. Someone on the wedding boards linked us to the DIs.
