how did you find the DIS?

I joined MyCoupons.com in 98 under another name yet re-registered in 99. Someone posted a link on the travel board there and so here I am. I am feng shui-ing my life and have less drama in my life now and I'm much more into traveling now and less time obsessing over coupons and deals so I spend more time here.

I've noticed there are a bunch of us MC'ers here which is nice ...

I just found it not that long ago.
In October of 05. I was planning our trip to WDW and we were driving from MI all the way there and I did a Google search to get others tips on the drive and it led me to the Theme Parks board. I posted there for quite a while then found the CB and mostly post here now.

A guy my mom works with was going to Disney with his family. It was their first ever time to WDW. My mom plans all of his travel arrangements (for business travel) and we have been to Disney so many times that he came to her and asked her to book this and asked all these questions. Finally, she just said "Do you want me to do this for you?" He said yeah. So she did all the plane reservations, hotels, etc. He is one of those people that if you don't tell him exactly what to do and when to do it, well, it becomes a nightmare. LOL. Seriously, he refused to use Disney transportation because it was a "pain in the a** and too complicated". So I made an itinerary for him and planned out all the rides at each park, when he had to be at which restaurant, etc. I googled a map for the MK just to figure out what order I should put the rides in, etc. wdwinfo.com came up and out of curiosity, I started clicking around and ended up on the boards. I read them for about 2 days and loved it so much, I decided to join. LOL.

palmtreegirl, what was your screen name over there? I was so addicted to the RC from '99-02!! I was just "allison" back then.

I found my way over here by recommendation! stinkerbelle and I were both on theknot.com and someone posted a question about Disney and she recommended the boards. I came right over and been nose to screen ever since!

I found the DIS in January 2000 (even tho after the crash it always said Feb ) when I was looking up Disney info for my brother and his family. I was helping them plan a trip that Spring Break.

The boards (as now) were so addicting that I ended up also planning a trip for my family as well and have been planning and going ever since!!!

I found the DIS in 1998 when I was on the intercot forum (another Disney forum). I switched back and forth for a while, I had forgotten about that site until you just reminded me. I haven't visited in YEARS, I wonder if my password still works

1998 / 1999 I was a regular on an AOL Disney message board. Someone there mentioned this place. Been here ever since -- even though I don't think I signed up right away.

I was searching for something related to a girls' trip I was planning in 2004 (can't remember now what I was looking for), and this site came up. I lurked for ages but never registered or posted anything cause the trip was just about planned and I'd found my answer elsewhere. However, that trip got me all hooked on Disney again, and I came across this site in my bookmarks and came back to start planning our first ever trip with the kids that we're taking next year. I discovered after a while that there was a community board, and I jumped right in! I used to post on a parenting community board, and the debates were fun there! But then they changed the format of the boards, a lot of people left, and it just wasn't the same anymore. So I was really glad to find another general discussion board I could be a part of, though I wish sometimes we could be more free with what we post and debate more often (non-political).
