How Did You Create Your DIS Name?

My name is Heather Ann and for some reason my dad started calling me Hebby Nan when I was little. No idea why or how this started, but unfortunately it stuck and was then shortened to Heb. So, instead of Heather, my ENTIRE family calls me Heb. Weird, but so far I've never heard of another with this nickname.

I have two sisters, and all of our names start with A. When we were little, my dad would refer to us as "the Apple sisters" or the Apple Family when giving out our names in public places (e.g., Will the Apple sisters please come to the front of the store? etc.) I think he thought it was a safety measure, so no one would know our real names. Also I think he thought it was kind of fun "code."

Anyway, years later, when we began to go to WDW as adults and before we all had cell phones, we did the walkie-talkie thing in the parks. (Remember that?? Yikes!) We used "Apple sister1, "Apple sister2," "Apple sister3," "Big Red," "Mama Apple," etc as "handles" on the walkies.

So....applesister1! (I'm the oldest.)

I have been a member of the DIS since almost the beginning...there were like 2 or 3 boards back then...I think I joined in 1997...it says 2000 over there because that's when Pete got these new, fancy-schmancy boards!


Anyway I love bears and Baloo is my favorite Disney bear! It was so long ago I didn't have to add anything to Baloo...I was the 1st one!!

Years ago (the 90's), when my Uncle worked for AOL, he created and gave me a free AOL account. He's an Oakland Raiders fan, so he chose "raydurz" as a username. I've used it ever since.

I chose MouseEarsForAll, because...we all need mouse ears! That suddenly doesn't sound that creative...

hmmm... I am the papa. I love the Mouse!

<edit> I should note that my original name here was Petraman. That has been my handle for everything for decades, so when I joined here, I just instinctively typed it in. But not long after, I kept thinking "what does this have to do with Disney?" I hated to give up my posts, etc. but I bit the bullet and made the change. Couldn't believe it was available when I typed in papamouse1... figured it was long gone... so glad it wasn't. Now whenever I build a login account I am papamouse1. Now I ask, "what does papamouse have to do with Fox Sports?"
