On the way back from a Cub Scout meeting,
my grandson innocently said to my son,
'Dad, I know babies come from mommies' tummies,
but how do they get there in the first place?' After
my son hemmed and hawed awhile, my grandson
finally spoke up in disgust, 'You don't have to make
up something, Dad. It's okay if you don't
know the answer

Our boys knew the basics when by the time they were 8. Never any big surprises and we always answered their questions factually. And always with the caveat that it wasn't their job to inform their friends. That was up to their friends' parents. 


I still don't know to this very day. Perhaps I should ask one of my daughters if they know. Never to old to learn new things, I always say.
