How did a trip that start out so well end so bad??? Updated 8/17 post 173

Sorry it has been so long. Unfortunately, I had a death in the family so I have been away for a while. I promise I will update within the next few days. So glad I have some followers. :cool1:

Hope your doing ok :grouphug:. We'll be looking forward to your TR when your ready to jump back in.

Hi there,

I'm Baaack!!! Thanks for your patience.

When I left off we were heading to the pool. We got to the pool about 1:30pm.

Let me add that I had an unexpected friend join me so I had to stop at the general store for some provisions. I packed up my bathing suit and figured I would change in the pool bathroom. We found the General store and I got my provisions. I then asked for directions to the pool. The CM laughed at me but kindly obliged. Turns out it was right behind the store.

We walked by Leaping Libations which was very lovely. I went to change and noticed the machine in the bathroom. The provisions there were 1/2 the price as the store. Wish I knew....just figured I would mention it so someone else could use the tip.

We checked out the kiddie pool first since my DD7 lost 1 hour of swimming privileges due to her misbehavior. My DS 2 had a blast. The people next to us had a blast watching him. They thanked us for the entertainment and said he was quite the pistol. :lmao: He would stand up in the kiddie pool and throw himself right down. He liked jumping off the edge too no matter how many times I told him not to. The playground was right next to the kiddie pool and he enjoyed that too. The ground and slides were a bit too hot for me but he seemed okay by them. When the hour was up my DH took my DD to the big pool. My son proceeded to pitch a fit because he wanted to go down the slide too. Let me tell you ...this boy is not afraid of anything. Scares the heck out of me. Here is a picture of the slide.

My son and I stayed at the little pool while they went to the other one. I just didn't trust my son and I am not that comfortable in the water myself. My DD LOVED the slide and pool. We had friends staying at the Beach Club that we were going to meet up with. My DH came over asking if he could use my phone because my DD just dropped his in the water. Oh the joy!!! Anyway, he took my phone and they decided our friends would come over and enjoy pool time with us. When they showed up (their DD10 mths and DS 5 in tow) we each got a beverage. By then I needed it after watching my dare devil son. My DH then decided he would take my son to the big pool as he was starting to pitch a fit again and my DH could tell I was nearing my limit. I told him to watch him VERY CAREFULLY that he has no fear. I stayed behind with my friend and her baby and just tried to relax for a bit. Apparently, that was a big mistake. I hear this child screaming crying and just know that is my son. I run to find them walking calmly to me. My DH is cradling my son who has blood pouring from his chin. I tell him we need to get him to a hospital. He says, no he is fine! I'm not sure if you know but apparently boys don't get stitches??? According to my DH anyway. So, I take him to the lifeguard. Oh...and I had a white shirt on. The lifeguard was great and helped clean it and gave some bandaids and gauze for later as well. My son didn't want anyone to go near his chin. A very nice guest came up and shared me with this liquid Bacitracin that gets the sting out. This was WONDERFUL. It is on my list of things to bring. Anyway, I must have shot my DH a dirty look because he said, "I know what you were thinking and I was watching him closely". I asked how this happened if he was watching him closely. He said it was because my DS was getting out of the pool. I let him know that a 2 year old cannot get out of the pool unassisted obviously. So now not only does my son have a raspberry on his forehead from falling in the driveway right before we left (not sure if you remembered that from earlier so I thought I would remind you), now he also has a big gash in his chin. Um...nice mommy I am. He did not need stitches BTW but still has a little scar on his chin. Sorry, I digress....so now it is about 3:30 and we decide we have had enough fun and it is time to go up to our room to get ready for our 5pm ressies at Cape May. The plan was to go there for dinner then Fantasmic as this is 1 of only 2 nights it was showing during our trip and I knew my kids would love it. Luckily, we have seen it before.

So.....are our bags in our room yet since we need to get ready for dinner? Do we make it to Cape May on time?
Does my son behave???

Stay tuned.......................popcorn::

I love slides, but that clown face one is scary. Poor baby and his chin hope it didn't get in the way of his having fun. Great update.

Aw, your room views are lovely! Sorry about your little one hurting himself so much. So glad he didn't need stitches! I can't wait to see how the rest of this trip turns out. Great start! :thumbsup2

That pool looks great! I bet you needed another beverage after all the pool excitement! I would have!

Suspense! I hope your trip didn't really end so badly...

I agree with a previous poster...I love the different pools and their themes, but that clown slide? Scary looking!

I always think that clown slide looks scary, too. I'm a big baby when it comes to clowns. This trip report is great. I can't wait til the next update.:thumbsup2

Oh man, poor little DS! Glad he was ok and that people were so friendly and helpful with you.

Great start, can't wait for more!

Most clowns don't bother me, but there are a few that do. Ever since that Stephen King movie "IT" came out, I'm a little more disturbed by them. I think that's why this clown is so scary looking to me, because it reminds me of the "IT" clown. :rolleyes1

I totally had to show that clown picture to my husband. He was like... "that's at Disneyworld?" After my affirmation, he just kind of looked incredulous. "That's creepy," was his only reply.

Aww...thanks for all your kind replies everyone. So glad I have followers.

When I left off last we were headed up to our room to go to the Cape May Cafe. I was all prepared to change into the clothes we flew down in but when we arrived at the room what should appear but our suitcases!!!! I was so excited. My poor DS was still teary eyed from his chin. My DD was pumped to go though. My DH took the battery out of his phone and left it open in the hopes it would dry. Apparently, we took a bit too long to get ready. Our friends we were dining with that were staying at the BC called to ask where we were. I told them we were heading out then. We made the lovely walk to the beach club and our friends were waiting for us. We got seated right away in a table way in the back corner. I liked the table cloth was white paper so the kids could color. My DH went up first with my DD and got them something to eat. I let my DS eat some rolls with butter. When they got back I got up. I got some crab legs and some other stuff. The mussels were my favorite. When I got done my DS was already pitching a fit. Oh the joy of a 2 year old. I reminded my DH that this was why I wanted the counter service dining plan and not the table service and then ordered a very yummy and cold bud light. The waitress was very quick with drink refills. I think she may have had ESP. The problem was, she was too quick with clearning the plates and often cleared the plates before we were done. Speaking of done...my DS was so done with sitting in the high chair so I took him out. He proceeded to throw himself on the floor and pitch yet another fit. Okay...time to leave. My DH said he would take my son outside so I could finish my drink and give them our KTTW card. After paying the bill, I left. My darling friend was waiting for me with a glass of wine. THey were staying on CL so she kindly shared me with a glass of wine. Looking at my son, I noticed he did not have his pacifier. That boy is all about the pacifier so I began to freak out. I had others at the room but this was his FAVORITE of course. I went back to the table and looked all around, moved the plates and everything. Nowhere to be found. Checked the podium and nothing was turned in. Figured in the haste to clear the tables the waitress might have cleared that too. On a whim my DH went back inside and found it!!!! It was lying next to a table 3 tables away. He must have thrown it during his fit. Mind you...I booked 5pm dinners to avoid the fits. They became all too common as you will see. Anyway, we went outside and checked out the beach. What a lovely place!!! We let the kids run off steam in the sand and they thought that was the best thing. I then saw the movie list. I was hoping to catch a movie and make smores with the chocolcate/marshmallows/crackers I brought from home but that was not to be. What a wonderful idea though. My friend let me know that they put out chairs and have an inflatable movie screen. We walked around for a bit and saw a family with baby ducks swimming in the pool....just too cute. Sadly, we decided there would be no Fantasmic that night as my DS had enough. Plus, the next day was jam packed. So, we went back to the timeshare. Here are some of the pictures I took.

This one sums the night up....

Yes, that is my son walking his harness!!!

I'll have to upload the other later as they don't seem to be in my photobucket.

Anyway, when we got back to the hotel my DH offered to walk to Hess to get up some libations and things for breakfast. I was just looking for something simple like donuts. I had packed a large reusable shopping bag so he took that with him. I gave the kids baths while he was gone. He came back with an 18 pack of Coors Light and no food. He said he couldn't find donuts???? Anyway, I felt bad because he was sweating and said it was a long walk carrying the beer so I let it go. We set up the pack n play in the studio side and my Daughter slept in the bed. Actually, we put my DS with my DD until he fell asleep. I let them watch a movie while my DH and myself sat on the balcony enjoying the view and our cold drinks.

Up next....a long day...Epcot in teh morning; dinner at Biergarten then over to MK for the Wishes Dessert party and EMH.

Hurray!! An update!! Don't ya just love the Beach Club? It's our favorite resort. Love the pool, love the location, love Cape May Cafe, love it all. "Patiently" waiting for the next installment! popcorn::

Oh, yes - I remember taking my son to Disney when he was just shy of two. I remember it well! Dinner time was the WORST!!! But he was fine everywhere else, so long as we KEPT ON MOVING. We couldn't stop, for anything, LOL!

EXACTLY! As long as we didn't stop and he kept enterained he was great. He even napped in his stroller which I did not anticipate.

Just wanted to apologize for how long it is taking me to update. Work has been crazy lately and I very rarely get to use the computer at home. I might not be able to update this week but I will have a bunch next week. Thanks for your patience.:goodvibes

I remember my son napping in the stroller, too, which was nice! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see how the rest of the trip turns out.

Sorry it has taken me so long to pick up but I'm BAAACCCKKK!!! I don't know how people remember what they did months ago, I barely remember last month but I will try my best. :goodvibes

I as determined to let my kids sleep in this trip and that is exactly what I did. I think they woke up around 8:30am. My DH went down to the Boardwalk Bakery and used some of our snack credits. He got carrot cake (not usually something I allow for breakfast but, hey, it's Disney), a sticky bun and something else plus a couple of juices. As we found out later, he should have just used counter service credits as that would have been a pastry, and two bottled drinks and the pastries were big enough to split. Anyway, when the kids woke up we ate them and left to walk to Epcot. It was so great how close the International Gateway was. As we made our way in, who do we run into but our friends that were staying at the BC. It was so funny we were on the same time schedule. I could have gotten the GAD fastpasses but the park was so not crowded we didn't need them. I remember we got fast passes for Soarin' and Test Track but that was it.

As we walk in to the countries, my DS notices this little cave that they all crawl in. Funny...in the 10+ trips I had been I had never noticed this. I can't find my picture of the "cave" but here is a picture of what happened to my son after he sat in it.

I just can't take that boy anywhere. We were only there for 2 minutes and already he is filthy.

We walked through a lot of the Flower and Garden Festival displays. They were so beautiful. My children especially liked the little playground that was set up. Here are some pics of the displays.

We head to Spaceship Earth after we got FP for Soarin'. I didn't remember this being as fun as I thought it was this time! I was pleasantly surprised. My DD loved the computer and putting her face on the postcard. We emailed it to my mom back home and she got a real kick out of it. I think we rode Nemo next and my DS was enthralled with it. He was clapping and singing the whole time. I had tears in my eyes I loved his reaction so much! We then played in the little play area for quite a while. We rode The Land and Test Track. By then it was time for lunch so we ate at Sunshine Seasons. It was then time for our FP return to Soarin'. They guys went on first with my DD and my friends DS and we got child swaps for the rest of us. The moms waited with the small children near the fast pass return. We waited quite a while before them came out. We then went in with the older kids again. That is the beauty of the child swap...the older kids rode multiple times. I think we rode a couple of other rides, that for the life of me I can't remember then headed over to the World Showcase for our 5pm ressies at Biergarten. We enjoyed a frozen mojito first..it was very good. I couldn't have been happier with where we were seated. Because we were a party of 8 we had our own table and were front and center. My DS was anxiously awaiting the singing and dancing I told him about. As usual, the food was okay but the beer was good as was the "show". I have a bunch of pics from this....

This is my son enjoying the show..

We just had so much fun here...I am so glad my DH and myself tried this last year.

After Biergarten, we headed to catch the monorail since we had ressies for the Wishes Dessert party at MK that night.

So far this has been an incredibly enjoyable day. I am so glad we are going at a much slower pace and not the commando style I am used to.

Up next.....Wishes Dessert Pary and MK....will we stay for EMH?
