How crowded will the Monday before Thanksgiving be?

Planning a trip for the week before the week of Thanksgiving. I wanted to know if one more day, on Monday, would be a good idea. When do the Thanksgiving vacationers arrive? I know it is very crowded by Wed.

If past years are any indication (we often go the week before Thanksgiving week)...the week prior is VERY slow....almost a ghost town so to speak....the Friday evening before Thanksgiving we noticed the resorts really got busy, but parks were fine. The crowd built quickly through the weekend and by Sunday the parks were VERY crowded (all things are relative)...one year we went back to EPCOT on the Monday before Thanksgiving and it was probably 3 to 4X the people that had been there the week before.

I would not even attemp the MK or probably even AK that Monday....maybe EPCOT or maybe MGM if you got there right at opening. If I was staying an extra day I would probably plan a non-park day for that day.

There'll be 3 more of us there too!! I'm just glad to hear the week before is typically dead! Yippie! We'll be arriving on that Tuesday the week before and leaving the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Sounds like we better get as much Disney stuff done as we can during the begining of the vacation.

The seven of us might just crowd you out! :grouphug:

We get there late the Saturday before Thanksgiving and leave the Friday after. Sure, I'm expecting it to be busy. But I don't figure it will be any worse than when we've been there Christmas or New Year's Eve or to Disneyland the weekend of the 50th Anniversary. :teeth:

That's exactly when we'll be there! Only we'll be over at Ft Wilderness in our camper. I figure whatever we're gonna do at MK needs to be done early in the week. I doubt we'll try to go on T-day. We might make that our "other resort exploration day." :rolleyes1

We'll only hit MK T-day if I can snag a table for 7 for LTT for lunch. After that we may go check out what's on at the movies at DTD... and I'm sure my brother will spend some time watching football. :faint:

Add 4 more!!

DW and kids will do MK on Friday the 18th.....I join them that evening...we'll probably hit MK Sunday.... and we have ADR's at Crystal Palace on the 23rd at 8:05 (our flight leaves that day at 8pm)

2 more here. My mom and I arrive 11/15 and I am planning on MGM for RRC and ToT and a LOT at MK the first 2 days. We aren't planning on ANY park at all t-day. We were thinking of renting a boat and hanging out on the lake at CBR till our adr at Kona...I actually won't mind the waits because it will not be 100 degrees!!!!

So your saying that the entire Thanksgiving week beginning with the weekend before the long Thanksgiving weekend is crowded? Even more so than other peak times? Or is this one of the peak times, about as crowded as other peak times?

It is one of the peak times- less crowded than Christmas or Easter, but more crowded than many other times during the year.

We're arriving the 16th in Tampa and first day in the parks is Friday the 17th. We'll do MVMCP on the 17th.

From the research I did prior to booking the trip....the worst day at MK is indeed on Thanksgiving Day. If you can plan to avoid that, it should be tolerable. I've got 2.5 MK days planned for 11/17-21. We should be sick of the MK by then.....okay maybe not.

We've typically gone during peak weeks in April, July and August...so the crowds won't bother us and it might actually feel "light" to us. I purposely booked the extra days ahead of Thanksgiving for that reason. We'll avoid the MK on T-Day and maybe the parks altogether.

Have fun whatever you do.

We'll be there 11/18 - 11/25, planning on going to MK on Sun 11/20, Tues 11/22 and MAYBE Sat 11/25 before our flight leaves.

We'll be there 11/18 - 11/24.
11/18 : Epcot
11/19 : Animal Kingdom
11/20 : MK
11/21 : DS
11/22 : MK
11/23 : Epcot

Sound good ?

We went the week of Thanksgiving in 2004(and i've heard it was true last year as well), and unfortunitly it is no longer the "ghost town" it used to be at that time. Not the worst I've seen it, but certainly not what I expected.
