How crowded will it be...

.. On 05/05/05? We're going to DL 5/4-5/7 and I'm wondering how bad the crowds might be with the start of the 50th b-day celebration? Any thoughts?

I logged into the annual passholder site last night and noticed something you should be aware of. Disneyland will be closed on May 4, 2005. California Adventure will be open. This makes me think that they are anticipating a huge crowd on the 5th and beyond and are therefore making arrangements for it. We were in Disneyland last May 5, the day they made all the announcements and it was packed! Normally I believe this is a very uncrowded time to go (after spring breaks, before summer) but with this 50th anniversary all bets are off! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Supposedly they are closing DL on the 4th to add the decorations and everything so it will look pretty on the 5th. I'd think it would be pretty crowded that day.

My guess is it will be VERY crowded, at least on 5/5/05, as it is the kick off day of the 50th anniversary celebration.

And yes Disneyland will be closed on the 4th, but as mentioned DCA will be opened.
