How crowded will it be after Thanksgiving

We are thinking about going to WDW and arriving Thanksgiving night. We would go to the parks the following Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Would it be crowded all 4 of those days? I was wondering if it would work to go to less crowded parks on the Friday and Saturday and then hit Magic Kingdom on Sunday and Monday.

Would the Christmas decorations be up yet?

Also how is the weather that time of year?

thats when im going. the parks will be crowded but manageble from what ive heard. the weather should be cool. and go to magic on monday for sure

According to the WDW travel guides I have, Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest times of the year for Disney parks. If you have to go then, make heavy use of Fast Pass.

Are you thinking about this year? If so, it may be difficult to get a room now.
The holidays are very busy, but from what I understand by Monday most people will have gone home/back to school.

We have gone in the 2 weeks after Thanksgiving 2 different times (not for two weeks, one week on different weeks) It is really awesome, you get right onto the rides, all the Christmas decorations are up and the Mickey's Chirstmas party is happening too!! It snows in Magic Kingdom. Then again, it snows at DHS for the Osbourne Family lights too!

I would not recommend Thanksgiving weekend. Its considered a "prime" time just like the week of Christmas and the times around Easter/spring break. If you can wait til the next week, you'll be much happier!! Just my .02 cents!

Unfortunately I haven't been to WDW in about seven years, but before then we went every year, from around 1985 to 2000, the week after Thanksgiving. We'd arrive on the Monday after Thanksgiving. The XMas decorations were up, and we'd walk onto rides. It was great!

The weekend you are planning will likely be busy. Crowds lessen dramatically later on Sunday and Monday. After that, there have been very low crowds, traditionally. But this "secret" is out so it is becoming busier every year. I would guess that E-ride waits would be in the 15-20 minute range, at worst. But some rides, if timed well, could be walk ons.

Try to avoid it the weekend after Thanksgiving, specifically Friday and Saturday. Someone said the weather would be cool, but don't count on that either. It can still be very warm in Central Florida well into December. Bring a sweatshirt, but don't be surprised if you don't use it.

We arrived T-Day of 06. Friday was NUTS!! Saturday a wee bit less crazy, Sunday better, by Monday all was good, until Thursday then it started to fill up again! We left on Saturday AM. All the Christmas decorations were up and awesome!

We were at Disney over Thanksgiving & into the week after Thanksgiving just last year, and with the exception of Friday & Saturday, it was awesome (we stayed through the following Thursday.) We didn't wait in any outrageous lines at all, and fastpasses were always perfectly paced. The biggest crowd we encountered was the AM EMH for Animal Kingdom: Everyone sprinted for a Safari Fastpass & it was a bit of a crush of people. Other than that, though, it was really, really manageable.

The weather was pretty darn hot--we were in shorts and t-shirts the whole time & never anything warmer (there was one massive downpour while we were there, and we spent wayyyy to much money on ponchos from a Disney store. Bring your own from Target for .99.) MUCH cheaper!

The Christmas decorations were up everywhere--Epcot was just breathtaking! I really think it's a magical time to visit!

I am going on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend (11/29). We are going to skip MK on Sunday (going to AK instead) then hitting MK on Mon and Tues, HS on Wed. Hoping for low crowd levels.
