How crowded will Buffalo area hotels be after Thanksgiving?

We're flying out of Buffalo on Sunday, Nov. 29 so we'll be staying in a hotel that Saturday night. Do you think it will be easy to just show up and get a room or will it be crowded because of the holiday weekend? I'm just trying to decide it we should book a room somewhere in advance.

Thanks for the help!

I would call and book a place "just in case". Most hotels will allow you to cancel until 6 pm the day of arrival even if the room is guaranteed with a credit card (you would have to verify this when you reserve).

Some hotels, if you call direct, will let you book a "6 pm arrival" without using a credit card guarantee - just call the hotel direct and ask if they do this. You should be aware that they will only hold the room until 6 pm on the date of arrival so if you will be later than that, you would have to call them and give them a credit card to hold it past 6 pm.

If that's the Saturday after Black Friday, you better book it - you'd be amazed how many people plan for early Christmas shopping that weekend, and most stay Friday & Saturday nights so they can declare more for the 48 hour time period. Better to be safe than sleeping in your car!!:goodvibes
