How crowded are the parks the week before/after Presidents week in February. I'm trying to decide if we should go before/after or the end of April. Can anyone help me decide?

the week BEFORE President's Day/Week. It was very nice - light crowds. But let me warn you - and please take this warning seriously. On the Friday prior to President's Day, the gates of %*%$# opened up and the entire Northeastern United States flocked down to Disney! Incredible difference. My husband and I sat at the Contemporary and had breakfast watching the packed monorails go by - standing room only.

Good Grief - I was happy we were leaving on Saturday...

I was there Feb. 2 - 9th and it was wondedrful. The longest line we waited in was 20 minutes, the weather was 70's and 80's all week( no rain at all). Also, one thing to keep in mind is that the week we went was "value" season so the prices were great. Of course that just meant I spent more on souviners!!

2005 we are going Feb. 5th - 12th.

We always go in Feb before Pres Week. The crowds are very low -- most things are walk ons. The longest we have waited is about 20 minutes.. Just we out before the weekend as the crowds do strart arriving on Thurs and Friday.

Just an FYI - the week before president's week is Mardi Gras week in N. O. and MANY people from southern LA come to WDW. This is not just the N. O. area, mind you, it is the entire southern portion of the state, and you would be surprised at how many come!

Just a heads up!:jester:

Yep - most of us refer to WDW as New Orleans East during Mardi Gras week. You'll see lots of us tricky Cajun types at the World at that time.

We were there this past Feb. the week before (actually a week and a half before) which was great! Low crowds and awesome weather (even a bit chilly before we left). This was a great time to go.

We went in Feb 2003 the Thursday before Presidents' Day weekend until that Sunday...busy, busy, busy. In fact that Friday was Valentines day and we couldn't get into any of the restaurants in EPCOT without PS's that night, they weren't taking any walk-ups. I would never go back again that weekend, but that's me. If you can't take your children out of school you have to go with what you can.

We were there the end of April/early May in 2003 also and it was a pretty good time to go, not too busy. It's just starting to really warm up then and sometimes it can be downright hot but not like summer. It's a good time to go.

Thanks for the info. We decided to go the end of April. I found great airfare so I booked the air now I have to decide which resort to go. I'm hoping for some good deals for the end of April.
