If we're down at that time of the year for MNSSHP we don't do the party on Oct 31. We do one earlier in the week.We Trick or Treat on Halloween at DTD MKTPL.
We LOVE Halloween and try to celebrate for as long as we can.Now that my kids are both in school we can't be at WDW the last week of Oct BUT they have an entire week off mid-Oct this year and MNSSHP are going on then too!! Yipeeeeee!!!
I just checked my calender and Oct 31 is a Fri...that might make it a bit more crowded than a weeknight Halloween.
Pretty crowded!! Please make sure to get there EARLY...really the earlier the better, in my opinion. Also take the time to get a spot for the fireworks and parades early as well...they are so popular! I won't plan on riding anything, but you'll probably be surprised at what you CAN ride if you go early in the evening. We'll be there by 6pm!!
We have our tickets for 10/31. Does anyone know just how many tickets they do sell for that night? When I bought them, the CM said they were going fast and would most likely be sold out for Halloween night within a matter of weeks. So are we talking a few thousand or like 15,000?
We were ther last year on th 31st, which was a Thursday. I expected large crowds and was surprised that it was not overwhelming. There were lots of people, but we didn't have to wait in long lines for any ride. I didn't know if it was because it was a Thursday and maybe the local people didn't go because of work/school the next day. This year it is a Friday and may be different. Trick or Treating in the MK was fun. Even had my 50 year old husband trick or treating.
Last year I went to MGM/Epcot on Oct 31 and MNSSHP on Nov 1. It worked out quite well. Fantasmic was less than 70% full, and after walking back to Epcot and riding SSE, I had no trouble getting a spot on the fence at World Showcase Plaza only 1/2 hour before Illuminations. MNSSHP didn't seem to be terribly crowded on the 1st but that is the only time I've been so I can't really compare.
To be honest, it was the most people I've ever encountered at MK so far, but we always go off season in Sept, Oct, and Dec.
BUT we still have a wonderful time and the trick or treat lines went VERY fast even though they appeared long. We also waited for the second parade which was still crowded but not as bad.
The atmosphere is amazing and we still had a GREAT time!
