How crowded is it today - Nov. 30?

After reading how crazy crowded it was last week, I am hoping the crowds have left! We get there tomorrow and stay until Saturday. We picked this week after hearing this week is supposed to be quiet. Hoping that is true!!

Park doesn't open for another hour (it's 8am here...DL opens at 9, DCA at 10) so can't predict today's crowds for you.

But...we were in both parks yesterday (11/29) and the crowds were low, the ride wait times were barely anything but it is COLD.

Examples: We rode POC twice without any wait....and this was after 4pm (we were at DCA until then). The "wait" was really how long it took you to non-stop walk to the boarding area....the boat we were on the first time had 7 people....the second ride was just my 2 girls and I.

The wait for Soarin' was posted as 10 minutes, but we walked all the way to the CM that sends you either left or right and immediately we were lining up at the boarding area.....so really the wait was just to let those inside finish and then we were up. We got a FP in case the line got longer, but we never used it and we went on it three different times throughout the day and never more than a minute or two literally waiting to be told left or right and then waiting for those inside to finish. Amazing.

Toy Story Mania had a 30 minute wait early in the morning so we moved on to PP instead.....and then sadly it was closed for "technical problems" at lunch time and when we checked just before we left DCA at 4pm it was still closed. CM said not likely to reopen until tomorrow.

We weren't planning to watch the parade, but it was going by as we were trying to get around the crowd....and we came upon an opening of a family sitting on the curb and NO ONE behind them. Scooted in and watched it.

We've come to Disneyland this week other years and it's never been crowded....it's a great week to be here. Now...I do expect this weekend to be a bit crazy because not only is it the weekend, hence the locals will be here, but it's also Candlelight Processional weekend, but we already have our plans in place for avoiding that chaos (we stood for a long time one year to see it.....and have also seen it several times over the years at WDW...so while I think it's definitely a wonderful show.....if you ever plan to do WDW, wait and go there where there are multiple shows and it's standard to be able to do a lunch/dinner and get seats....in DL you have to stand unless you are a specially invited guest.)

So....plan on probably low crowds until your last day....so my advice would be to not leave anything to the last day and instead plan that one to be a walk around and just soak in the pixie dust, lol.

In park now walk on POC
HM is down (hasn't opened yet it's 11:30
10 min for Splash mtn...waiting now

I'm here as well and have walked onto Space mtn, buzz astro blasters, toy story (was at the front of the pack) California screamin and monsters Inc.

Yeh! We're coming tomorrow too! I'm glad to hear it looks pretty quiet. We haven't come when it hasn't been totally busy in a few years!!!

How cold is cold? :rotfl:

The first two weeks of December are empty during weekdays and light on weekdays. Since it is supposed to rain all weekend, it should be very empty.

Thanks, ConnieB. This sounds exactly like last year. We were there from Sunday-Friday after Thanksgiving, and it was mostly a walk-on. That is, until Friday. Things start getting real crowded real fast for the Candlelight Processional on the weekend (I assume it's next weekend, just like last year?)

So ConnieB's advice is right on - do what you can on Wed/Thurs, and then plan on Fri/Sat being a zoo.

How cold is cold? :rotfl:

It was in the 50's before dark and colder when sun went down.

Of course CA weather changes costantly. Sitting here waiting for kids to do Matterhorn for third timd in a row and its 71 '...at 2:45 pm so come prepared for both!

No wait for BTR or Splash or HM or POC. 20 min wait for Space mtn so got FP to go in an hour, lol

We'll be there tomorrow, too! (And coming from where it is now 40's and rainy, and last week seeing temps in the 20's, anything above 50 is WARM!)

I was surprised to see that the waiting at Space Mountain today afternoon was under 30min. Went there last week Monday and had to wait 70min...thats one thing I'll never do again. It also got pretty warm during the day so wearing a t-shirt was totally fine.

ConnieB,

How fortuitous for you and your family! That is always awesome to have your own boat! And what an added bonus near to zero wait times.... just one little problem with your plan........... you forgot to pick me up on your way to the land! And I was sitting there on the curb, with my suit case, with my pirate tiara on my head.... oh well.. Sigh! ;)

teach.....

Here is hoping that you will have the same awesome next to nothing wait times for all of your ride plans. Like Connie....

Now y'all have a wonderful and magical visit!

anyone know if there is some sort of convention in town? i just book a last minute leaving this sat trip( jet blue 10.00 sale) and the hotels were booked solid all over anaheim. I hope it's a convention and not people flodding into Disneyland lol

Saturday and Sunday are Candlelight Processional this weekend at Disneyland.....so unfortunately it is expected to be quite crowded this weekend, more so than just the "locals" coming to the park.

Am going to get there on Saturday night for 7 nights. we normally use priceline.com and I had no luck for like a month.... I looked up and it is candlelight proces. on Sat and Sun but found out there is some convention for pharmacisists until Wed. So should not be too busy in Disneyland but hotels near the convention center are pretty booked until Thursday night.

no cost, cast members singing down main street to train station, guest speaker/narrator is Tom Skerrit this year. Think it is like living Xmas tree? supposed to be moving, spectacular, warm fuzzies....good stuff. Usually first weeekend in December.

Not really a paid event.... you can go for free but a lot of people show up for it. Will be busy on Saturday and Sunday for sure!!! Good news is California adventure should not be too bad. We get in on Saturday night so will not waste a day on a few hours of really busy Disneyland but will go on Sunday but spend our first day in California Adventure. Monday we will start on Disneyland.

glad i stopped by the Dis and I thought I knew alot about Disney lol.. learn something new everyday. So good to know as it's not on the schedule so i'll plan to hit disneyland in the am and california in the pm. it's just my youngest and I going this time and if he can hang we will try and catch it one night. Thanks again for the info!
