We are set to go the first week of October, and mnsshp starts the first week also. Will I regret going in october? We went last May and the crowds were pretty low. I remember going in July about 8 years when I was a teenanger, and the crowds were horrible, said I would never go during the summer again. Just want to prepare myself, are the crowds going to really high? TIA

I thought it was normally slow....

BUT

Last year it was media week...with the grand openings of Mission Space, Philharmagic and "Wishes" fireworks...along with the FairyTale Packages 5 for 7 deals.

So much for the off season that we had planned 8 months earlier...lol.

It might be back to normal this year beside the MNSSHP nights....

Have fun!

It's not too bad compared to the really busy times.
To compare as best I can--more busy than September, about like May.
I'll find out just like you, as we're going that first week also. I can tell you that we've made all our dinner PS at several of the "major" restaurants and had no trouble at all getting our seating times----.

We went in October 5-12, 2002. The crowds were very low. We walked on to most rides. For most rides, if they weren't walk-ons, there was a max. of a 10-15 minute wait. It was a great time to go. Have fun!

We're going that week also, and like the above poster, I've had no problems whatsoever making PS's for exactly the times we wanted. I even accidentally got CRT, and I didn't want it. :D
I called and asked for the Princess Breakfast in Epcot for as close to 9:00 as possible. He answered back that he had a 9:00 seating, so I took it, gave all of our info, and when he repeated everything back, he said, "Okay, that's Cinderella's Round Table for Breakfast on . . . . . " I said, "Whoa, I asked for the Princess Breakfast in Epcot." He said, "Uh, oh," checked on the Princess Breakfast, and it was still available for 8:50 and then booked that one. He laughed and said, "You actually got the hard one." Can't tell you how many times we've tried for that one with no longer, and ironically, my DD really wants to do the Princess one on this trip.

On the crowd note though, NW Fla schools (that's us) are on Fall Break that week - not sure about the rest of FL - but I know there's a bunch of us from our area that are planning on going that week.

We also have the first week of our fall break that week. Last year it seemed very crowded to me, but as previously stated it was a media event for several grand openings. Hopefully it will be better this year.

I'll be there the first week too:tongue:

looks the crowds may be made up of a bunch of us From the DIS

so if your going to MNSSHP which night are you going
we are going the 8th

hope to see some of you there

We'll be there Oct. 3-9 I'm also worried about crowds. I'm hoping that we will be gone by the time the Columbus day crowds roll in. Either way we'll have a great time crowds or not.

We'll see you all there! Our trip is 10/2-10/10. We're doing MNSSHP oN the 3rd and possibly the 8th. I hope the crowds are as low as I have the would be. Although, it seems like a lot of people are going to MNSSHP on the 3rd. We'll have fun no matter what, but it would be great to walk right on rides if the crowds are low.

We will be at MNSSHP on the 3rd October!! We went the first week in October last year and it was not too busy!!!

How many of us will be there the first week in October?
We will be there too!
We should at least say hello to each other!'
Diana

As you approach Columbus weekend the crowds will increase.

On our last trip, the Sat. before Columbus, we were able to get fastpass for TT agter 5pm. The Sat of Columbus weekend, FP for TT was over 2 hours at 10 am.

we're also going that 1st wk in Oct
Oct 2-8 - first trip "home" to the VWL
MNSSHP Oct 3rd

We are going Oct. 6-9. Hoping ourselfs it won't be too crowded. They have had some offers for the next few months so I'm wondering if it might not have more people than usual.

We were there last year from September 30th till October 8th, and went to MNSSHP on the first Sunday which was the 5th. And although we were expecting more crowds taking advantage of the FTP like we were, it was not too bad...We were glad that we were getting out of there the day before that press event and all those openings on Oct. 9th. So it was not too bad for me, but I went expecting the FTP and grand openings to bring in more people than a usual October...maybe this year without those things going on it will be ok! Wish I was going then too! I loved the MNSSHP, and that wasn't crowded at all! Just in the areas of congregation like the castle forecourt for the Cinderella show, fireworks and first parade, and some candy stations at the very beginning.
Even with more crowds for October, we still did not have problems getting a PS to any of the restaurants and times that we wanted. It should be even better this year for everyone.

We're also making a quickie trip 10/3 & 10/4 before flying home 10/5. We'll be at MNSSHP (with our group of 13) on 10/3. We went a little later last year (over Columbus day weekend) and Columbus Monday was very crowded, otherwise it was fine. We did MNSSHP the day after Columbus Day and had no problems with crowds at all - walked onto many rides, including Philharmagic.

Since moving to NC 4 years ago, we've gone the first week in October because it's our school break here. It's never been very crowded. I would say even less people than when we used to go in May. Sometimes its a little busier depending on what offers Disney has available or what new attraction/media event is scheduled for the week, but it's really okay as far as crowd level. It does get busier toward the second weekend moving into Columbus Day though. We are also going to the 10/3 MNSSHP. We've always gone to a Friday night party but decided to try a Sunday night this time. Hope there'll be even less people!
