How crowded do you think Sat. 1/21 NAMM convention weekend will be?

My sister and I want to spend Saturday, Jan. 21st at California Adventure since we will be in town visiting our grandma and we want to see the Frozen show and ride the new Soarin. We will get there before opening but are wondering how bad to expect the crowds to be and if it takes awhile to see the difference with the convention goers. Thank you!

When I was purchasing a ticket to the MSELP premier, the CM told me that the NAMM convention had a really big impact on the crowds in the evenings. Based on our time chit chatting, she seemed to be quite knowledgeable, FWIW.

Impacts, first off the Hotels in the area.

Second, the parking and traffic around the parks and convention center. Very likely you will be routed to a parking lot that you were not planning to go to.

And yes the crowds, some of the participants do bring their family, who doesn't go to the event, but instead do things like Disneyland.

Okay, as a related question for that weekend, we'll be there that day for my kids' birthdays and to see MSEP. Anyone have a guess how early we'll have to find seating if we want to be curbside? With both the new/old parade starting only a couple of days before and the conference, I'm worried we won't be able to see it.

If I were you, I'd do a meal package with reserved seating! Alladin's is pretty inexpensive, I think.

NAMM also has an impact on TS reservations. If you want to eat at a TS restaurant during the convention dates, it is best to make your reservations early.

Thank you all so much for your input. Do you think the crowds will be worse than typical summer crowds? The crowd predictor websites seem to be predicting it as a moderate weekend, do you think they are wrong? I didn't realize the MSEP was premiering that same week. I would love to see that too but not if it's going to be nuts. What are opening weekends of parades typically like?
