How crowded are the parks during evening EMH?

Is it worth it to go to the evening EMH, or does the park end up so crowded that you just end up waiting in even longer lines than usual? We're trying to plan our "touring strategy." Thanks!

We have only visited back when WDW had E-nights at the MK. We had to pay extra for this and on most occasions it was worth it. One time it was very crowded.

I've read posts concerning the current EMH for evenings and it seems that it depends on when you are there. If you visit during a very busy time (e.g. peak season), then the evening EMH park is crowded during the day, especially late afternoon and evening and there are long waits during the EMH time period. I hope to learn more on this since our next visit will be during a busy time; my thoughts for now are to avoid a park when it has an evening EMH and stay late on a "regular" day.

It is hard to imagine that there would be long lines towards the end of an EMH evening in the MK at 3am...

Thanks for your reply! We'll be going mid-late August, so maybe we'll give the evening EMH a try.

We did late EMH hours in three of the parks last Easter and walked onto just about everything. It was great. We couldn't do the MK though - too late for the kids. We met a lot of people at the resort who didn't know about the EMH's at night because they were fairly new at the time. That may be why they weren't crowded.

Where can I find the list of dates for the EMH schedules in which parks? Thanks,
Gerri

You can find the EMH schedule at the Walt Disney World Calendar

Each park calendar has the regular park hours for each month. EMH evening hours cover the 3 hours after "regular" park closing; EMH morning hour is for one hour prior to the "regular" park opening.

I keep reading so many different experiences reagarding the evening EMH. This may be the toughest decision for me. We normally arrive at a park just prior to opening, but no way we're going to do this following a late night EMH.

We haven't really had that much of a problem with a crowd issue at evening EMH. We normally don't even think about morning EMH since we're not really early morning vacationers!! However, we also tend to travel NOT in peak season. Our last visit was 12/10 thru 12/17/05 and we didn't do EMH every evening it was available we did go maybe twice, however, only to do our favorites, but it didn't seem to me that any of the parks were really that crowded. I will say we avoid whichever park has EMH that evening during the afternoon hours since they definitely become more crowded during that time. Maybe a lot of people only hang around for the first hour or so and when it does seem more crowded they feel it's not really worth it to stay so by the second hour the crowds have thinned out quite a bit.
