How crowded are pools in Royal Pacific Resort

Just curious to know how crowded could be the hotel pool during peak times (afternoon?). We will be there between august 9-12.

With 3 young kids (13-7-3), and knowing how hot and humid could be orlando during august.... pool could be I very good time killer during afternoon.

I found the RPR pool to be on the crowded side - "lively" is a good way to put it. Now, don't get me wrong, there were still plenty of loungers and towels available and it wasn't body-to-body like the parks can get - but it was definitely hoppin'. The only slightly annoying thing was the many kids and teenagers playing catch with beachballs in the pool (my kids were the worst offenders ) and hitting me in the head. lol Still a fun experience - I do prefer Portofino bay's beach/castle pool -- soooo pretty and much less crowded. We stayed there for 2 nights last week, 12th & 13th July, and used the pool each afternoon - a great break from a full (early entry) morning at the parks. It certainly was not full to capacity and we were able to find 4 pool beds together without much problem each time. The pool itself was fine - plenty of people around but still had the feeling of not being too busy We actually noticed it really busy later on, almost when the sun was going down but I presume it will be hit or miss depending on the guests there at the time. You can 'pool hop' to one of the other hotels but we didn't bother as our kids, 14 & 10, were really happy at RPR.

You can 'pool hop' to one of the other hotels but we didn't bother as our kids, 14 & 10, were really happy at RPR.

if Royal Pacific Resort pool is too crowded it's possible to switch for Hard Rock Cafe or Portofino pool! nice tips! thanks!

Yes.and Portofino is the least crowded of the three always..

Do you really have to ask how busy a pool in Florida in August in going to be?
Just kidding. It will be busy, but it's a huge pool and your kids will love the wet deck. Our kids always liked this pool best out of the 3 Universal pools, even though there's no slide. That wet deck was much more fun than a slide.

As an RPR employee who spends many, many hours outside at the pool I can tell you the pool is busiest from the hours of 12PM and 8PM. There will never be a problem with being able to get as many towels as you need for everyone in your party, but lounge chairs is a different story. If your kids are going to spend all of their time in the pool, I would recommend not saving a chair for them if they aren't going to be using it. Also, if you are looking for shade or an umbrella to put up while you are at the pool, quantity is very very limited so you will have to come before noon for that. Also keep in mind that towel return bins were invented for a reason, as well as trash cans. When you are finished at the pool for the day, remove your trash and towels so that others can find chairs once you are gone. it makes things soo much easier for EVERYONE!

I did not see that level of service at any of the other 2 hotel pools when we pool hopped.
