Will the phone lines at DCL be so busy that you can't get a reservation? I've heard that it may sell out fast.
It's starting to give me the same feeling as when I knew I had to call to reservations for Cinderella's Brunch.
 :bounce: :Pinkbounc  :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Depends on how many people are on this board and intend to book...I don't think it will be that bad...but I'm a glass half full type of person too. It also depends on if they announce some type of non-refundable deposit at time of booking.

Okay, I'm a glass-half-full kinda gal (at least right now) :teeth:

I envision the phone lines burning out and their online system server blowing up and nobody being able to book anything (for anyone that is in pin trading, harken back to October when Disney Auctions launched their PINS store).

I love your countdown! I can almost hear..."Huston, we have a problem" as thousands of Disney cruise fans all begin their attempt to secure a ressie at the same time coast to coast.

Especially what happened on Saturday regarding getting tix for MNSSHP! The systems were down and when I called I could not get a confirmed ressie but was assured that it would happen but being the Type A person that I am when I did not recieve the call back by Sunday AM, I called them back myself!

Can yo tell the wait is killing me!

I'm thinking it won't be that bad.

The Magic has 875 staterooms for 12 sailings. That means 10,500 sales to make. That's a decent goal...nothing to sneeze at. Keep in mind that for a Carribean 7-day, staterooms are still available relatively close to the sale date. (Within the last few months.)

Any peak in demand caused by the new itinerary could possibly be offset by a reduction in the East Coast market.

In the best case, I'm thinking phones and inquiries will be crazy this week. I won't even make a call to a TA because I'm afraid they'll lose me in all the chaos. In a week or 2 I'll spend some time calling around to comparison shop then book the best price I can find...when the dust settles.

I tend to think we DISers are not your typical Disney cruisers. The general public is probably far less in tune to what's happening and won't even notice the changed itinerary until they get around to thinking about vacations that are 13 - 15 months away.

Fingers crossed...
Kelley

I am trying to think like you Kelley!!

It is not working!!

I have put in my request with DU for one of the transition cruises and have great faith in THEM, just not sure how great the demand is going to be. I know that DU has a great relationship with DCL & am hoping that means they are on or near the top of the list of getting their ressies taken care of. Also hoping "I" am near the top of DU's list!! I was contemplating calling DCL myself on Wed. , but have come to my senses & realized that DU has probably gotten control of things & I will be taken care of!! As with anything worth waiting for, the waiting is the hardest part!!!

Here's to hoping all us DISers are the only ones crazy enough to have tried to book cruises that don't exist yet!!!
