How crazy will it be in September?

I know that with the new Diagon Alley expansion the WWOHP areas will be crowded in September but I was wondering what the experts think. We are Harry Potter fans and have been planning a trip in September to see both Universal parks. We originally thought that by staying on site and planning on early entry every day it would be manageable but the more I research the more I am afraid that the crowds will be terrible even after school starts. Some places said that WWOHP would be full but the other rides in other areas should be fine. What do you guys think? Are we crazy and should we wait until next year? (We are not the type to want to stand in line for hours on end.) Thnaks for any insight

September is a very slow month. It will probably be somewhat busier because of the new area but even the year that Hogsmeade opened, September was still very manageable.

Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease. My sister and daughter are so excited I want it to be a great trip for them.

I think crowds will increase this fall over previous years but still nothing to get too excited about. Remember...Halloween Horror Nights begins towards the end of September so depending on when they are visiting, the Studios might have shorter hours because of the event.

We went in September 2010, after the WWoHP opened in May. We weren't on site that trip either, so we followed the advice of the Unofficial Guide and were at the gate 1 hr prior to the park opening, and we were fine for the first hour after opening. It got a little crazy after that, but at no time did the area shut down for capacity, which is what people over that first summer had to deal with on many days. We were still able eat lunch at the Hogs Head around 11:30am with no trouble. The rest of the park was very quiet, and there were very small to no waits for the other areas of the park. A lot of people go just for Harry. I imagine the same will ensue when Diagon Alley opens. They will be alleviating one of the biggest problems in moving Ollivanders, and having two sides running simultaneously and doubling capacity.

The early extra hour afforded to on site guests will be invaluable over the summer and into early fall.

We went the September After the first HP section opened. We always stay onsite and the hour early entry to HP was great, seen and rode everything with very little wait. Place was packed by 11 am to the point of not being comfortable to walk around...it's pretty narrow in there. But the rest of the park was empty and as quite as it usually is during September. I'm hoping for the same this year.

We went in sept the year hp opened, and we found the crowds manageable and not too horrible. We are (well I am and dh has yet to officially agree) planning to go this year in September too. We do stay on property and that may have made it a much more pleasant experience for us.
