I know its the 1st weekend of Food and Wine and MNSSHP. But it really is the only time I can go. 2 of my co-worker has the beginning of Sept and the other one has the middle of Oct. My DH really want to go for F&W. Don't want to do Nov. because we went that time 2 years ago and it was very rainy and there also was Jersey week.
What should I do??? HELPP!!!

We are going 09/29 - 10/08. We were at the world last year for the FWF's first weekend and it was not really that bad. We snacked around the world at the booths (all those snack credits) and saw an Eat to the Beat Concert without priority seating (Kansas.) My DD is not of legal drinking age, so I cannot comment on lines for wine and beer tastings. If memory serves me right, it was more crowded in the evening then afternoon. It was also HOT.

We also went last year during the first weekend of F&W, and it was definitely more crowded than the previous days, but we also really wanted to experience F&W, so the crowds come with the fun. It wasn't really overwhelming, but Epcot was definitely more crowded in the evenings. And yes, it was extremely hot, but that is Florida. :sunny:

Redwitch - were you able to use the snack credits from the dining plan at the F&W? I had heard they weren't taking them. :confused3

I forgot about the concert's. Do they have the list out yet for this years concerts?

Goopergall99 glad to hear I'm not the only crazy one................ :woohoo:

Last year most of the non-alcoholic samples were marked as a snack credit option. I am hoping for the same this year, but if the expanded snacks continue, I won't be too upset if they are not. (I'm sure we'll find a way to use them :teeth: )
I am also eagerly awaiting the release of the FWF concerts and other events. I think I read here it happens after the Flower show is over.

because of the free dining ending 9/29 it will be crazy crowded, but so is Christmas, Spring Break, summer - of course there will be hurricanes, and lines, and heat and humidity.... and me!! :lmao:

what can I do? I want to go for the F&W fest, and I want to go when no one else is there!! :lmao: ya think that's possible??? To Dream the Impossible Dream... :lmao:

Just have fun, and I think they will let us use the snack credits at F&W like last year, and its a good point to look at the possibilities - some are getting a box of Entemann Donuts as a snack credit!! (around $4 now for snacks included on DP - it should be a good thing!!) :goodvibes

see all y'all there!! :thumbsup2

I honestly hope it isn't as crowded as everyone is thinking. I was there during free dining last year and I didn't think it was that bad

We went from 9/30 to 10/8 last year. It wasn't bad at all to me.

We were up early every day though. We never did any evening EMH, so I'm not sure how that goes.

It didn't seem that much more crowded than any other time. We had a blast.

The Food and Wine fest. was great. We avoided Epcot on the weekends though. The weekdays weren't bad at all.

We went last year around the same time and we didn't think it was bad at all. It was incredibly hot though. We used most of our snack credits for water. We used several at the F&W festival; just look for the dining plan symbol at the booths. The evenings are definitely more crowded at epcot for the F&W festival. But during the day it wasn't horrible. We are going 9/30 -10/8 this year.

We must be crazy too! We'll be there 9/28 - 10/7 with about 16 in our group. We've been this time of year before and it wasn't too bad, but whatever we miss, we'll catch when we go back in Dec.!

We'll be there 9/29-10/4 and I am just so thrilled to be going back I'll take the crowds in stride!!! :rotfl: There's aways the pool.... :) if it gets too crowded :) :) :)

Must be crazy also.....9/30 to 10/8. Honestly, we were at WDW last fall around the same time and it was really not crowded at all. However, it was indeed hot.

(ie about crowd levels, we went last year a week later, free dinning ended last year Oct 4... and everyone I talked to on our first day were so happy at the low crowds, hence my change to come to wdw one week early... last year the majority of posts - one poster made an excel spreadsheet on all that posted to her thread - and so the majority did come the first week of Oct - and it was crowded - not July 4 or Spring Break crowded, but still the people in the walks were wall to wall - and I know it was more crowded that week than the week we went in July - I'm not saying we stood in long lines, we planned, we conquered, but, because the majority posted how low crowds it was, my expectations were low crowds, and it didnt happen -

so I'm just saying - free dining ends in Sept, not Oct, so many of us frugal bargain hunters are coming to take advantage of the free food - from my post reading it will be just as crowded this week of Sept - into the first days of Oct as it was that first full week of Oct last year -

Not that anyone's done a list this year - but I've been reading!! I'll bet the 2nd week of Sept will be very low crowds!! I'll bet the 2 or 3rd week of Oct will be lower crowds - based on posts on who's going when!! Even reading the MNSSHP posts - you can see a pattern...

Free dining is a huge draw for good reason!!

We were there last year until the 28th, just when the free dining started, maybe even while we were there. (I forget) We were only there 3 1/2 days, so we couldn't take advantage of the offer. I didn't notice a difference. Maybe the restaurants will be more crowded than usual, so make your ADR's as soon as you can. Other than that, we pretty much walked onto everything except Soarin'. That was the only ride we fast passed.
Enjoy, it's hot, but a good time as far as crowds. School is just starting then, so I don't know how many people like to take their kids out when it's just starting.

I am another crazy person going 9/29-10/3. I think there is no quiet time at Disney anymore. I went first week of December and from what the guidebooks said, it should have been slow. But there were loooooong lines everywhere. So I've given up fighting it. You just have to plan accordingly.

We went last year (and the year before) 9/30-10/4 and going for the same dates this year. We didn't make it to Epcot last year, but the crowds otherwise seemed very manageable.
