How come the opening ceremonies aren't on???

My guide says it starts at 7, and they are showing skiing!!!

The Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Winter Games happened at about 2pm EST.

I'm watching the coverage now on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's feed from Saskatchewan just to compare it with the NBC feed from Buffalo. They both began broadcasting at 8pm -- NBC will show the ceremonies over 4 hours while CBC will show it over 3 hours with uninterrupted coverage of the parade of athletes.

What that really means is that NBC will have a full 1 hour of commercials over the course of 4 hours.
