How cold is the water at DC?Other ?

We are going on July 1st and can't waitThe salt water areas are kept understandably cooler, but I read another posters second hand info that it is kept at 55degrees.That doesn't sound right.

Also during the swim,must everything be left on shore except you and your swim suit?

What areas are water socks not allowed?

It was 66-68 degrees when we went in late August last year.

Really it will feel good in the Florida heat, and really when you are face to face with your dolphin, a minor thing like water tempatureis a little thing....

Lets see during the swim, we were told to leave the snorkels and masks on the shore/same with cameras/sunglasses.

Water socks, I can't answer that, I didn't use them...
