How cold is the 60's at night

My college campus had a large Hawaiian community. I remember the shock the Hawaiian freshmen had during their first Oregon fall and winter. One in my hall packed a couple of light sheets for his bed but did not bring any kind of heavy blanket. So he was sleeping in sweatpants and a hoodie.

So from that story, and what Hawaiians have told me about the weather shock they experience when leaving the islands, I would bring shorts, sweats/hoodie and jeans.

Be prepared:simba:

My alma mater in Tacoma also recruited heavily there, and when I was there about half of the incoming freshman from Hawaii would transfer to colleges back home before the year was out. It was just too cold and dreary and way too different, I guess. Not sure if it's still the same (hopefully it's easier to research weather and the other differences now vs back in '87) but that's how it was then.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it. I want to bring as little as possible for us so we have more room to bring back lots of DL goodies :) We are used to getting 6 bags checked free, but we are on a different airline this time and have to pay for each one. ughh!!

Depends on where you're from.

I grew up in NJ and my first visit to DL was in Feb of 1979. It was 65 the whole day and cloudy. I was in a t-shirt and comfortable.

My cousin from LA was in a parka and freezing.
