Hi everyone, I'm new here and am so pleased to find a place to share my EXCITEMENT!

My family and I (dh and dd's 8 & 5) will be going Dec 2nd-5th for the first time ever

In terms of warm gear, should we go for sallopettes/ goose down coats and moonboots? My girls tend to feel the cold and I'd hate to not be prepared enough for the cold and I'm thinking about once the sun has gone down. And I'm about to buy a new coat and trying to decide whether to go for warm or super warm!

Also, how busy is it likely to be then? Is it likely we'll be queuing for an hour or so? I'm planning on doing the busier things in the first couple of days as they're weekdays.

Any tips for newbie trippers?

I'm LOVING reading the trip reports! Thanks in advance.

I would go for layers (thermal vest, long sleeve t-shirt, hoodie/cardigan, UK winter coat) which you can take on or off to suit how it feels on the day. We went mid November last year & I'd read that it could be absolutely freezing so went on a spending spree for skiwear but it wasn't very cold & my family complained because they were too warm! :rotfl:

Oooh another Christmas visitor .

We were at DLP beginning of last December, took winter coats, boots, gloves, scarves, hats/earmuffs, and we needed them, especially after dark (it gets dark around 5pm at that time of year). I made my DD wear thermals under her joggers too.
Weekdays are likely to be very quiet, so pack in all the rides/character meets you can then. Leave the shows etc until the weekends, they are easier to do than the rides when its busy in the parks.

Welcome:goodvibes
We were there last year in the first 2 weeks of Dec and will be again this year.
We had days where we wore shorts and t-shirts and the kids swam in the pool ... 4 out of our 10 day trip was 80-85 degrees! The other days, during the day, we wore jeans and a t-shirt, a hoodie in the morning. A couple of the evenings were quite chilly, but still no need for winter coats. We wore layers of t-shirt, long sleeve shirt and warm jacket and thin gloves. This year I am thinking of bringing hats since the kids are getting older and will want to stay out longer.
Crowds during the first few days were fine only got busier the closer you got to Christmas which you won't see.
Have a great trip!

Jenny these questions are for Disneyland Paris in December - is that where you were :confused3?

We are going a week later and are taking plenty of layers. I will be packing thermal vests and long johns, t-shirts, shirts, jumpers and a hoodie and a fleece. Plus a nice warm winter coat. Also taking a hat and gloves. Plus a good pair of walking boots and thermal socks. Nothing worse that cold feet!

DW picked up a nice ski jacket with 60% off,a wooly hat and gloves from Tesco during their summer sale.

We were there the last week in Nov last year. I brought full skisuits for my girls, but we only ever used the jackets. It gets very cold when the sun goes down, but plenty of layers, hats, scarf & gloves were enough for us.

I have been at DLP in December when there's been snow and ice on the ground and I've been there when it's been milder and raining. You really do have to bring clothes for all possibilities and the advice others have given to bring layers is good advice. Back in 2002 and 2003 it was dry but I was so cold I thought my extremities were going to fall off, especially at night. In 2008 and 2009 it wasn't as cold as that but we got quite a bit of rain. Plenty of layers so you can adjust as necessary and some waterproof stuff is the best advice I think

We went many years ago in early dec, it was cold in the day, but not freezing, the minute the sun went down that soon changed!!! really very cold at night.

This year we're there in late November, we'll be taking lots of layers, thermals etc and winter coats....hats, gloves etc and nice warm boots for us and out boys
