How cold are early mornings / late nights on the western Caribbean cruise in late August?

Is it cold enough that I'd need to pack a sweater or jacket for walking on the deck outside Cabanas? If you have temperature measurements that would be perfect since everyone's perception and tolerance to cold is a little different. Thanks!

While I look for scientific info, my experience is that it will be hot and humid outside.

The sweater is possibly needed for inside where the air conditioning is trying to keep it cool.

This is how Princess sells it:

Here is the air temps in Cozumel starting Mon, Aug 19:

Here is a comparison of ocean and air temps in Cancun. Note how close they are.

And the ocean temps around the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean:

Cozumel humidity levels are low 60s to mid 80s. It’s not a dry heat, like Arizona. That’s the ugh of the Southeastern US.

Goin on the fantasy in 2 weeks. Not even taking a jacket. Know it will still be blazing hot.

I like a sweatshirt or sweater for the MDR and theaters. The only time I need one on deck is in Alaska!

We had a really chilly sailing one time—I remember us all huddling under blankets while watching funnel vision. It rained a lot that cruise and brought down the temperature. But most cruises it’s warm even in the evenings. I think best strategy is check weather forecast right before you leave and decide based on that if you need a sweater.

I never travel anywhere without a light jacket in my carryon. You never know what can happen when you travel. I think that's just common sense, but will it be cold in August. No.

Like others said a sweater for inside may be warranted. I brought two cardigans on our 7 night Fantasy cruise this summer that I could wear during the day or with dresses for dinner. I always had to take the sweater off when we went for a walk after dinner though as it was warm and humid at night.

Those late nights on deck watching FunnelVision can get a chill - for those of us who are cold-natured.

August in the Caribbean is never going to be jacket weather. Even at night on a ship.

If you were sailing from say, San Diego in December then 100% you may need layers.

I always bring a layer. The dining rooms, bars, theater. You probably won;t need for anything outside on deck.

We occasionally needed a sweater inside - mostly in the theatre or sometimes in the room (although you can control that). But late August was hot. I mean, really hot. Even very late at night outside with the ship moving, it was not cold enough to need a sweater. Last year in late August, it was 42 degrees during the day in Nassau and low 30's at night. It might have been a bit hotter than this year but not significantly. It's still hot.

I assume those temperatures are Centigrade, not Fahrenheit, right?

Yes, temps are in Celsius. 42C is about 108F. Low 30s is 86-95.
LOL, a sign I’m getting old, I guess, forgetting the Celsius I worked with in high school and college and reverting to the Centigrade I learned in grammar school.
