How cold are Disney restaurants?

We all have very thin packable rain jackets. I'm thinking about bringing those instead of ponchos and using them in the restaurants if we need to.
Good plan. I think rain jackets are more functional during rain in the parks anyhow. More comfortable and breathable, and the hood stays up better. Even better if it can double as a sweater layer if you need it.

I had a miserable meal at Rain Forest Cafe--AK several years back. I had no sweater, which was unusual in itself, plus we had been on KRR and I was still pretty damp from that. It felt like it was 20 below zero in there. :rolleyes1

The hotter it is out, the colder it seems inside :scared:

A thin, light, button down, long sleeve shirt - weighs nothing, can be folded up, can be worn (block sun), can be wrapped around your waist or rolled up and placed in a purse, carry-on, hubby's shorts side pocket lol.

Like anything else, when you have it, you don't need it/use it. When you don't have it, you wish you had it. I have the same issues with ponchos, umbrellas :) - up to the individual if it's worth the hassle.

Busses at WDW often feel like meat lockers. Drivers claim they can't control the temperature. Don't know if this is true or not.

I would imagine they say that to avoid turning it up/down based on individual requests. I am sure there will be someone on the bus who wants it colder while someone else wants it warmer, so that is probably what they are told to say to avoid that issue.

Best to bring a light sweater/jacket to put on in any indoor area you find cold. We found most restaurants to be too cold during our last trip and dressed accordingly.

I'm gonna hazard a guess that all previous replies are from women??? I don't ever remember being cold in a WDW restaurant. DW is often cold, even in our own house! She has a t-shirt that says "I'm Freaking Freezing!" But I don't recall her complaining about being cold in WDW.

I am a woman and ever since I had kids, I am always boiling hot. My internal furnace is ramped up for some reason. My last trip was in April and I did not notice any restaurants that were unusually cold. I traveled with my daughter and she is a waif and so is always cold and I don't remember her complaining. After being out in the heat and humidity, the air conditioning feels good.

So much this! When I worked at a cafe, older woman would come in and complain about how cold it was and demanded we turn the air down. We were all sweating our stuff off. There was no way we could get it warmer and not have employees drop on the line. You are there are a short amount of time but employees are there for hours. Plus even if it got adjusted, it would not make any difference by the time you are done and gone. If someone gets cold easy, bring a sweater, but please don't feel like you can expect places to adjust JUST for your comfort. Most thermostats are behind a locked box for a reason, because customers would adjust them, some for their comfort and some would think it funny to crank it up to 85.

Most of the time we find them very comfortable.
A few years ago, we were seated at the Flying Fish, underneath one of the air conditioning ducts. We had cold air blowing directly on us and it was so cold, we had to ask to be moved. They did and the rest of thee meal was wonderful. About 15 minutes later, we saw another couple get seated at our old table, and then move a few minutes later.

I have to update my previous post. We ate just today (6-11_21) at Y&Y and...I DIDN'T FREEZE! Which surprises me totally. I was actually comfortable, which made my Birthday meal so much better ❤ On top of this change, most of the busses were very tolerable for a change. Color me surprised 8-)

I tend to get cold easily but don’t recall having this problem at Disney. But I’ve only ever been in August so maybe it’s just too warm then:)

Used to be freezing but was recently there and you would have thought that Bob "Cheapskate" Chapek raised
the room temperatures all around.
