How close to sailing can you book?

I’m thinking of booking a cruise once I get pregnant for a baby moon. But with my first I was super tired and nauseous the first trimester so I want to wait and see how things are going before I book. I live in Florida so getting to the port last minute isn’t an issue. I wasn’t able to do a baby moon for my first since I was pregnant during Covid when everything shut down, so I’d like to do something for my second. I also don’t want to book far out because I feel like it’s bad luck to do that before I get pregnant.

I know they have to submit the list of passengers to security or something right before sailing so I’m not sure what the last possible cut off time is that I could book one.

Well, just looking at the DCL website right now, I can book a cruise leaving from Port Canaveral on January 13 - so you can book within a week of departure depending on what you’re looking for! I’m sure there’s limited stateroom availability, but especially if you’re looking at Florida Resident deals, usually the special rates don’t open up until closer to sailing anyways.

You can book a cruise online up until DCL pulls it offline 3 days prior. Or you can call to book up to the day before embarkation. What rate options may be available could be the bigger question.

not always. They only reduce prices to fill ships. I’ve not seen anything on the Wish. I’m not florida resident, but have booked the restricted fares for the general public.

If there was probably before 9/11. I know after that there was a lot stricter rules. When I was a kid I went on a cruise for the day for lunch that was in port

Hi I’m back. So I am pregnant now, yay! I was wondering do I need to bring any documents from a doctor for boarding? On the website it just mentions you can’t sail past 24 weeks. But how do you prove how far along you are?

Cruise lines have to submit passenger manifests to DHS 72 hours in advance. So at the 3-day mark, cruises come off the website. You can still try to call and see if they'll let you book but who knows if they will allow it and/or if there is any availability.

Congratulations.

Multiple Disney websites are sort of vague. They say you can’t get a waiver to sail past that date. But never say that documentation is required. (Of course, gestation estimates can be best guess).

Basically, you sign your cruise contract that you are fit to travel and agree to their terms. And one of those terms is that you will not be at 24 weeks - or go into your 24th week when sailing.

And they assume no risk for your pregnancy at any point of gestation.

You sail on your word and at your risk.
